APRIL – JUNE 2021 Australia ULVERSCROFT AUDIO NEW RELEASES MP3 CD, CD & LIBRARY DOWNLOAD COMPLETE AND UNABRIDGED 1 Introducing Awais Khan… Awais Khan currently lives in Pakistan. He has studied Novel Writing and Editing at the prestigious Faber Academy in London and is the founder of the Writing Institute, the largest institute for Creative Writing in Pakistan. In the Company of Strangers is his debut novel. What inspired the story behind In the Company of Strangers? In the Company of Strangers explores the secrets and lies of Pakistan’s wealthy society as they become a target in a terror plot. Over the years, I have had the chance to observe the lives of the people here and I’ve come to realise that no matter how privileged they may be, they are still subject to the toxic issues plaguing all of Pakistan, namely domestic abuse, misogyny and shaming. There are no heroes in In the Company of Strangers. My intention was to shine a light on how flawed and vicious much of Pakistani society can be, and how much still needs to be done to improve the lives of people, especially women, here. Introduce us to Mona. What’s facing her at the start of the novel? Mona is in her early forties and is married to one of the richest men in Lahore. Despite having wealth and all the luxuries that come with it at her disposal, she is unhappy. She is trapped in an abusive marriage with Bilal and she finds her friends extremely fake and judgmental…When a former friend tries to reconnect with her, offering her a chance to venture into a glittering world of secrets and covert affairs, she doesn’t think twice.

Voters making selections in their own branch categories list only film titles on their ballots, not the individuals responsible for the various achievements. For that reason, as well as for reasons of printing time and convenience of using this pamphlet, full credit rosters are not provided for the listed films. An exception to the above exists in the four Acting categories, where simply listing titles would not provide enough voting information. Actors Branch members filling out their Nominations ballots must indicate both titles and the particular performers they are voting for. For that reason, the Reminder List provides a listing of up to fifty cast members for each film. Pictures eligible in the Animated Feature Film, Documentary Feature and Foreign Language Film categories are also eligible in the Best Picture category, provided they meet the qualifications for the category. PRODUCER/DIRECTOR: GAYNOR MACFARLANE 2 SCENE 1 - TAXI The streets sounds of a bustling African city. Horns beep. People shout. Hawkers shout by the roadside, peddling everything from water to batteries and toilet roll. 1. SUNDAY: Come out of the way. It is a double road. Two cars! Idiot! After a frenzied flurry of beeping horns, SUNDAY (the taxi driver) shouts out of the window. A voice from further afield responds with unintelligible insults, which only serves to make Sunday madder. 2. SUNDAY: Do you wanna see doctor today? If I come out of this car I will injure you here. More unintelligible shouting from a distance. 3. YOMI: Could you wind up the window please? 4. SUNDAY: Wha’ say? 5. YOMI: The window. 6. SUNDAY: How am I supposed to instruct these idiots with the window closed? 7. YOMI: It’s just…the fumes. 8. SUNDAY: You do not like fumes? ‘Triple Word Score’ – Draft 4 by Ben Tagoe 3 1.
