She also found the height adjustment on her upright vacuum Must have fixed itself somehow because it works again okay What surprises Gary is the light still works without He’s ever changed the bulb so far as he remembers anyway We had the lump on Trav'ler's leg removed for those who don’t Know Trav'ler she’s our dog turns out the lump was nothing more than fat She and little Sputzy she’s our other dog are fine Although poor Trav'ler limps a bit but she seems comf't'ble with that Trav'ler's stitches, picture B. Joanie got the fuzz balls off that one one plum colored sweater Back in April that she bought the day we got our purple Mac Also Gary found some sets of colored vinyl rings you use To code your keys like we use green for front and red for back Plus, you may remember that last year our water softener Was on the blink well this year it has ground right to a stop Last year Gary fixed it by replacing that one rotor deal That goes down from the program wheel that’s driven from the top Joanie mowing, picture C. Trouble was the water stream diverter job that didn’t move To speak of cause the shaft was sheared and wouldn’t turn at all We knew something must be wrong when we went thru just one Half bag of salt in six whole months from early spring to early fall That was last year this year it’s we’re going through way too Much salt we called up Sears but you know Sears their service is the worst The only thing we know's that rotor isn't broke again It must be something else 'cause you can bet that Gary checked that first Gary fishing, picture D. Joanie found a way to drive to WalMart without making any Left hand turns you know how hard those left hand turns can be There’s a couple blocks she has to loop around to do it but It's worth it for convenience being nearly hassle-free She may design a booklet made for left-hand-turn-aphobics Having maps on which the left hand turn alternatives are shown Aside from that there's nothing really happened we can think of Oh and Gary has the job he's had for years and so does joan Sputz and Trav'ler, picture E. Happy New Year, J. and G. Track 2 THE VULTURE © 2004 L&P Berryman A scroungy old bird is the vulture And corpses are all he will eat He looks like a dork But his beak is his fork And his dining room table's the street His dining room table’s the street His ears are as sharp as his toenails He listens to us in our bed 'Nif I don't make noise Like a gym full of boys He will think we’re deliciously dead He will think we’re deliciously dead He'll yank our butts out through the window A vulture can yank very hard The neighbors will say That they watched with dismay As he scattered our teeth in the yard As he scattered our teeth in the yard He'll suck out our eyeballs like olives And spit the lids out in the dirt He'll pluck at our hearts For the tenderest parts And reserve our pink lungs for dessert And reserve our pink lungs for dessert Reporters will side with the vulture In lurid sensational terms They’ll say for the crows He left somebody’s nose’ And a little behind for the worms And a little behind for the worms But fine if my snoring upsets you I'll go out and sleep on the lawn When the vultures arrive They will know I'm alive And I'll move back inside when you're gone I'll move back inside when you're gone Track 3 SOME DAYS ©2005 L&P Berryman All my pile, in a books, on the floor All my stack, in a mail, by the door I can't keys ever find anymore I work, have to hitch, hike to may Some days, every seem things out, of place In a one horse open sleigh Why I dogs, like to so, many keep Why do they, like to bed, on my leap Either I, have to couch, on the sleep Or dogs, in bed, with the climb Some days, every seem things out of place In the good ol' summertime All night long, how I did, wake a lay My true love, walked a snit, in away I should go, spend a beach, at the day For to stick, my sand, in the head Some days, every seem things out of place And the old grey goose is dead I'm so low, that I'm back, on my flat I, I need think to shrink with a chat All day yester I hands on my sat Just to leave that wine in the cork Some days, every seem things out of place On the sidewalks of New York (Instrumental) With a banjo on my knee Some days life is a park in the stroll Some days life is a punch full o' bowl But some days there's a bowl in the hole And the punch runs pants down the right Some days, every seem things out of place So Good night Irene good night Track 4 HOMELESSNESS ©2004 L&P Berryman I never dreamed I'd ever be Without a home to comfort me ‘Til a friend of mine this very spring Lost his whole house and everything So now I know that life is strange That all is luck and luck can change. And don't forget, it's sad but true Next time around it could be you One runaway truck, one slip in the muck One stretch of bad luck: Homelessness One family feud, one litigious old prude One long bad mood: Homelessness One toaster too hot, one investment that's not One tiny blood clot: Homelessness One decision on gin, one paycheck too thin One dumb night of sin: Homelessness My poor old pal is on the street It's extra sad cause he's so sweet But even if he were a creep The lug should have a place to sleep So anyway it's really true Next time around, it could be you And when you say, how could that be? It could be worse: It could be me One letter too strong, one adventure gone wrong One sick leave too long: Homelessness One knock on the door, one slippery floor One nuclear war: Homelessness One slip of the pen, one downsizing trend One backstopping friend: Homelessness One identity thief, one flaky belief One slice of bad beef: Homelessness Once I did agree with you That fiscal plans make dreams come true Now I know that that was nuts That fate is king and fate's a putz For now I'd say that you'd be smart To squirrel away a shopping cart And if they ever change your locks Mi cardboard box, su cardboard box Track 5 HAVING BEEN DONE ©2005 L&P Berryman I used to exist upon sugary slop On Zingers and Snickers and gas station pop Fig Newtons for brunch, and pound cake for lunch But there came a time when I made myself stop I've kept my resolve against unhealthy food And though I feel righteous and look better nude There would be less pride, in Twizzlers denied Without a good wad of them having been chewed I used to love gin cause it went down so nice My triple martini straight up with a slice I'd chug it and buy, a few more, more dry And now I chug nothing but decaf on ice But though the ol' schooner of gin has been sunk And left me here stranded as dry as a monk There would be less pride, in gimlets denied Without a large pond of them having been drunk And I smelled like hayfields a-fire, and yet I'd light my next smoke on my last cigarette As three packs a day, for years charred the way To a nightmare of quitting I'll never forget & though I breathe easy since they've been rebuffed The last one so long ago having been snuffed There would be less pride, in Camels denied Without a big barn of them having been puffed And now here again lest I sing out a lung The sense of relief when I do hold my tongue Would not be so strong, when stopping the song Without a good bit of it having been sung Still sometimes I lie on the sofa withdrawn And wonder where all the excitement has gone But though I'm bereft, there's one thrill that's left So lie with me darlin', lie down with me, darlin' Oh lie with me darlin'' 'cause NASCAR is on Track 6 ACCORDION TO ZITHER ©2005 L&P Berryman A is for grandma's accordion lamps B is the banjo where she keeps her stamps C is the cello she stenciled with stars D is her dulcimer holding cigars E's her euphonium punchbowl with spout F is her fiddle filleted like a trout G is her glockenspiel screwed to the wall H is her harp on a plinth in the hall I is her Irish pipes over the bar J is her jumbo guitar as armoire K's her kazoo, a dispenser for tums L is her lute filled with miniature mums M's mandolin holds her bobbers and lures N's nickelodeon stores her brochures O is her oboe as hatrack deluxe P's her piano, a coop for her ducks Q is her Quilt made from bagpipers’ bags R's her recorder, a pole for her flags S is her saxophone bumbershoot stand T is her trumpet, an ashtray with sand U is her uke decoupaged and ignored V's her viola as bulletin board W's whistle's impaled on a nail X is her xylophone used to sort mail Y's the yodello that only she sees Z is the zither, now slicing her cheese If gramps were alive he would say she's a

NO BALLAD, NO CRY dele began writing new material for her follow- up record in April 2009. But not before she agreed to take a fl yer as an actress with a guest shot on the hit tele vi- sion sitcom Ugly Betty. It seemed like a harm- Aless diversion from all the drama and pressure in her life. She reasoned, how hard could it be to play herself? In the episode, Betty is dancing with her husband at their wedding when the couple is suddenly interrupted by Adele. Th ere is some harmless banter and the next thing we know Adele is up on stage singing the song “Right As Rain.” Adele realized that that kind of promotion in America was well worth the eff ort, but would later acknowledge in Vogue that the Ugly Betty experience cured her of any future acting aspirations. “I can’t watch it. I was so uncomfortable. I am the worst actress of all time.” But Adele was thankful for the momentary respite from Marc Shapiro her day job as singer-songwriter on the rise.

  • THE LYDIAN GALE PARR (Draft)
1 THE LYDIAN GALE PARR An incantation by Karinne Keithley Syers [email protected] THIS WORK IS IN PROGRESS SETTING: To be performed as an oratorio in some kind of ornate interior chamber, perhaps an embroidered tent. The event could also be thought of as a kind of Homeric TV opera. Possibly the layers of the event – the speech, the dancing, the images – are separated out in time, so that the live event is dedicated to listening, followed by photographic documentation received given after the performance, perhaps even sent in the mail, of the dances, and the images invoked. PERFORMERS: PART ONE: Two speakers PART TWO: All (dancing) PART THREE: The Lydian Gale Parr PART FOUR: present: a guide, the letter speakers as micro-chorus; recorded: a narrator, a correspondent PART FIVE: All as The Lydian Gale Parr CODA: All, led by micro-chorus 2 PART ONE: LETTER (The American) Performed by a pair of emissaries, speaking in almost-unison. Readings of the letter might be performed with a minute choreography of rib cage mobility, breath, chest collapse and expanse, recollection of épaulement (codified options for shoulder placement in ballet) or other classical or invented techniques of posture, lean, glance aversion, blinking, and actions of the lips that don’t involve speech. A double slash (//) in the middle of the line indicates two simultaneous lines to be spoken slightly differently by each of the speakers, according to whether they are standing on the right or left. Where the double slash is broken between the end of one line and the beginning of the next, those two lines are spoken simultaneously.

Ottawa Jewish Bulletin – December 15, 2008 – Page 49 Talking like a real Yiddish speaker The other day, I met a friend I had not seen for a couple “He looked me square in the eye and said, ‘Think! Did of weeks. For a month before that, he had a strange and you ever used to answer that way? Listen, come in and lie Humour me, strained expression on his face. But, every time I saw him down on my couch and we will explore this further.’” and asked how he was, he gave me that artificial smile and “And what happened?” please said, “Fine, couldn’t be better.” “Don’t rush me. You want to know or not?” So, this last time, when I asked him how he was and he “OK, OK.” said, “Don’t even ask,” I was intrigued. “So, we go through the greeting exercise again and again. What had happened? I say ‘fine’ and he says, ‘really, everything’s fine? What Rubin Friedman “You don’t want to know,” he said. about your kids?’ So I start saying I have lovely kids and I “No, really, I want to know. What happened?” love them and really they are wonderful and I am fine even “You remember how every time you saw me and asked though they wrecked my car last week, I can’t complain, al- “And I say, ‘My business is fine. My partner is a great me how I was. I said, ‘fine.’” though now that you mention it, it bothers me and, oh God, guy, everything is fine and last month profits were up and “Yeah.” why do I have such careless kids?’ costs were down and everything would be super except my “Well, I started to answer the same way in Yiddish and “The psychologist says, ‘Good, that’s a little better.

  • Rose Colored Blues”
ANDREW COMBS TO RELEASE CANYONS OF MY MIND APRIL 7 GARDEN & GUN PREMIERES NEW TRACK “ROSE COLORED BLUES” U.S. EAST COAST TOUR STARTS MARCH 30, EUROPEAN TOUR TO FOLLOW “One of Nashville’s most poetically gifted young singer-songwriters.” NPR Music Andrew Combs is set to release his anticipated New West Records debut, Canyons Of My Mind, on April 7, 2017. Garden & Gun premiered album track “Rose Colored Blues” yesterday, which can be heard now Here, calling it “a freewheeling number that reframes the constant motion of touring—a common musician’s lament—in a positive light.” Combs adds, “It’s a romanticized version of being on the road. I wanted it to be lush, and to feel like you’re driving. The concept is something that’s always been very interesting to me: the whole idea of someone relishing their blues.” Combs will soon return to the road for a U.S. East Coast tour that begins next Thursday, March 30, before embarking on an extensive European tour throughout May. Please see below for full tour details with more dates to be announced soon. Inspired by the darker side of touring, the album single “Blood Hunters” previously premiered at Rolling Stone Country alongside a Ry Cox directed cinematic film, which can now be viewed/shared Here. The suspense-filled video tells the story of a hunter and his prey with nods to sci-fi and horror. Combs explains, “This one is about losing your mind. It came out in a haze of post tour blues; this being the 24-72 hours after you get home from tour in which you find yourself restless and somewhat deranged.

DREAMS My Journey with Multiple Sclerosis By Kristie Salerno Kent DREAMS: MY JOURNEY WITH MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS. Copyright © 2013 by Acorda Therapeutics®, Inc. All rights reserved. Printed in the United States of America. Author’s Note I always dreamed of a career in the entertainment industry until a multiple sclerosis (MS) diagnosis changed my life. Rather than give up on my dream, following my diagnosis I decided to fight back and follow my passion. Songwriting and performance helped me find the strength to face my challenges and help others understand the impact of MS. “Dreams: My Journey with Multiple Sclerosis,” is an intimate and honest story of how, as people living with MS, we can continue to pursue our passion and use it to overcome denial and find the courage to take action to fight MS. It is also a story of how a serious health challenge does not mean you should let go of your plans for the future. The word 'dreams' may end in ‘MS,’ but MS doesn’t have to end your dreams. It has taken an extraordinary team effort to share my story with you. This book is dedicated to my greatest blessings - my children, Kingston and Giabella. You have filled mommy's heart with so much love, pride and joy and have made my ultimate dream come true! To my husband Michael - thank you for being my umbrella during the rainy days until the sun came out again and we could bask in its glow together. Each end of our rainbow has two pots of gold… our precious son and our beautiful daughter! To my heavenly Father, thank you for the gifts you have blessed me with.

  • ENG61-0611 Revelation, Chapter Five Part I
REVELATION, CHAPTER FIVE PART I Thank you very much, Brother Neville. The Lord bless you, my brother. 2 Good morning, friends. It’s happy this morning, privilege, or a grand privilege, I should say, to be back here at the tabernacle again and to have this time set aside for our morning worship and fellowship around the Word of the Lord. I believe it was said one time, “I was happy when they said unto us, ‘Let us go to the house of the Lord.’” To be with Brother Neville again, and my good and precious friends. 3 And I guess it’s a little cool, or a little warm back there. And we have, I think, some fans that you can use with your hands this way. If—if…we got the fans if you’ve got the motor, so just to keep it moving. Or, we did have a bunch around here, I think they still have them. I see some using songbooks or what-more. And it’s…one thing we’re trying to have services for, is to dodge these places that are—are in the future that’s hot. So we’re…That’s why we’re here this morning, to bypass those places. And only one thing that can do that, that’s the Blood of our Lord Jesus Christ that does that. 4 And I was very happy to hear the good report of the church, that how it is progressing, going on with the Lord, and how God is dealing with you in spiritual gifts.

  • Issue 105 Randy Houser’S Late Night with Dave Nothing Was “Normal” About Last Thursday Night’S Late Show with David Letterman
September 2, 2008 Issue 105 Randy Houser’s Late Night With Dave Nothing was “normal” about last Thursday night’s Late Show With David Letterman. First, and foremost, while country sightings are rare on their own, it’s unheard of for a country singer with a debut single barely inside the Top 50 (when he was booked) to get a shot as the musical guest. It was also a rarity for Letterman himself to order the booking. But Letterman’s hand in re-arranging the song for that night’s performance is something that Late Show Musical Director Paul Shaffer says never happens. The career of Universal South’s Randy Houser took an unbelievable turn a few months ago when, according to Shaffer, Letterman heard Houser’s “Anything Goes” on one of Sirius Satellite Radio’s Country channels. Letterman called New York and asked his talent coordinator to book Houser. Crump Plaza: The Marj & George Aubrey Crump Terrace But Letterman took it a step further when he called Shaffer was dedicated at the Country Music Hall of Fame And Museum just prior to the 1pm vocal on Sept. 1. More than 65 close friends and relatives from the rehearsal on the day of the Hampton Roads area of Virginia attended the ceremony, which show. Shaffer told a small came on what would have been the 63rd wedding anniversary group of folks hanging for Marj and her late husband, George, who passed away in 2005. From 1955-2000, the Crumps owned and operated WCMS – around onstage after the show where Country Music Swings -- one of the nation’s first full-time that Letterman said he was a Country stations.
