Mahaska Community Recreation Foundation 2020 Overview Key Events • The 10th Annual MCRF Bowling Fundraiser was a success bringing in over $7,900 for Lacey activities. • The complex was able to host two USSSA tournaments in June this year, while practicing Covid-19 protocols. • The Standard held a football camp with former Iowa Hawkeye – Marvin McNutt. It was a great success, and they plan on continuing in the future. • The Neighbors are Moving In! – Our friends at the YMCA broke ground this spring. MCSC: JFK & Rec Soccer • Fall Ball expanded their rosters by adding a softball division to the league, playing 300 games over 4 weeks at the Lacey Complex. 4th Quarter Activities Recreation • Mahaska County Soccer Club finished their fall season at the end of October, after 10 weeks! New South Stadium Parking • YMCA Flag Football and Oskaloosa Football League wrapped up their fall seasons on the Lacey Complex football fields, hosting games each Saturday through the beginning of November. • Kick-it-Forward hosted a soccer camp at the mini-pitch in November. Community Support • The Annual Lighted Christmas Parade was celebrated as a Reverse Parade this year, with the theme “Twinkling Twenties”. Our red trail tram was decorated with lights that flashed to Christmas tunes. MCRF won the 3rd Place People’s Choice Award! Developmental Projects • The new south stadium parking lot was completed in December. This development will Fall Ball 2020 also allow in car viewing for the Babe Ruth east field. • The brick and electrical work was completed for the solar walkway. • Dirt work continued for the long-term plan for additional baseball fields at the Lacey Complex. Upcoming Events • January 14, 2021 – MCRF Board Meeting • We optimistically look forward to 2021 and youth activities starting up again! Flag football Annual ReportAnnual 2020 “The Real Loo” Football Camp USSSA Tournament 10th Bowling Tournament Lighted Christmas Parade MCRF Annual Financial Report 2017: N Road complete; BR walkway; Picnic Area 2018: Solar Walkway, sun dome began; UP trail section completed; wildflower planting along trail. Purchased aerator and tractor 2019: Concession/Restrooms completed at youth soccer fields; S. entrance of stadium paved ; Rotary trailhead drive paved (donation); and Fox Run trail extension was installed. 2020: Solar walkway, sundome completed; began construction on new youth baseball fields; trail extension completed from Fairfield Hotel to gazebo on 92E; S stadium parking lot completed.
