Attendees are encouraged to use this time to ask Courtney questions, brainstorm with each other and network with fellow community-minded executives. 10:45 a.m. | Start ‘Em Young: Engaging Your Community’s Youth Hunter Horenstein, Director of Fan Engagement, Myrtle Beach Pelicans In a tourist driven market, tapping into the local fan base is critical. The Myrtle Beach Pelicans have used programs such as the Playground Takeover and Little League Takeover as opportunities to bring the team’s entertainment directly to the community. In doing so, the team has used its most basic marketing tool – fun – to increase the size of the local fan base. 11:15 a.m. | Creating Lifelong Fans through Community Goodwill Rachel Whitley, Director of Community Relations, New Orleans Baby Cakes We all issue donations to support non-profits in our communities. Brittany currently works for 5050 Central and is the former raffle supervisor for the Toronto Blue Jays, who were recognized as the number one 50/50 program in major league sports. 3 p.m. | Outside the Office Breon Dennis, Vice President of Community Development, Frisco RoughRiders Breon will discuss ways to get the front office involved to be great commUNITY leaders, in and out of the office. Shultz assists with the administration of the Dominican Summer League and serves as the administrator for the MiLB Umpire Training Academy. But over time, they evolved into a year-round operation that generated revenue through various non-baseball events. Andrew will discuss how they got to where they are today, and the mentality Quad Cities has when it comes to creating separate branding for your team and your events. 10:35 a.m. | Iowa Wild Fan Experience Brad Allen, Director of Fan Engagement, Iowa Wild This presentation will cover all aspects of what fans can expect at an Iowa Wild game, from the moment they arrive at the arena, to what they see and experience on the concourse and at the conecssion stands, to the in-arena entertainment. Gould Evans is an architectural firm contracted by Major League Baseball to inspect Minor League playing facilities. This discussion will review the Gould Evans facility visit process along with discussing capital improvements, LED lighting and other items.
