FOUR WINDS FIELD WHERE EVERYONE COMES TO PLAY “Four Winds Field is a major-league field.”

Joe Hart, South Bend Cubs President

Since purchasing the South Bend franchise in 2011, owner Andrew T. Berlin has led a slew of renovations and improvements to Four Winds Field. A full high-definition video production room, two additional outdoor suites, a new home clubhouse and a pristine natural grass surface headline the major improvements.

1ST SOURCE BANK PERFORMANCE CENTER The South Bend Cubs Performance Center, run by former long- time manager Mark Haley, aids in player development through new batting cages, a fitness center and a renovated clubhouse. The facility is also used by the community for baseball and instruction.

“The gold standard in the minor leagues”

Andrew T. Berlin, South Bend Cubs owner

10 Team Owner: Andrew Berlin WELCOME TO THE 2018 SOUTH BEND CUBS SEASON! I love the promise of each new season. Each fresh year gives our organization the chance to re-dedicate itself to the goals I established when I purchased the team in 2011: great base- ball, thrilling memories for families and fans, and a revitalized South Bend.

We’ve made terrific progress on each of these goals. This is our fourth season affiliated with the Chicago Cubs, and I assure you we strive for excellence at each “” we have. Impor- tantly, we have some amazing momentum from last season – momentum that will helps us on the field and off.

Great baseball The Cubs continue to have terrific talent in their farm system. That means you get to see tomorrow’s stars in South Bend today. And sometimes, like last year when we hosted Jason Heyward on a rehab assignment, you can see your favorite Chicago Cubs at Four Winds Field.

We played well last season, and the South Bend Cubs sent four players to the Midwest League All Star Game. Jimmy Gonzalez is back at the helm as Manager for his fourth season. Jimmy, 2016’s Midwest League Manager of the Year, knows how to get the best out of his players.

Thrilling memories for families and fans Last season we set another single season attendance record for our franchise, with more than 354,000 people coming through our gates. Each of these fans got a wonderful experience, with 87% of the re- spondents to our year-end fan thrill survey rating the experience as a 9 or a 10 on a 0-10 scale. And we are proud that Four Winds Field was voted by fans as the 2017 Best Low-A baseball stadium in Ballpark Digest.

This year we are making further enhancements, including an expanded Toyota Fun Zone for kids, a new walk-in Corona Beer Cave for adults, new food and merchandise options, and more service training for our whole staff. In addition, in June we are opening our new rooftop deck on top of The Ivy; with spec- tacular views, this group space will hold up to 300 people and will have a full kitchen and bar.

A revitalized South Bend The Ivy at Berlin Place – a $23 million new development that includes 121 apartment units – will be the premier living space in downtown South Bend. The first units will be available for occupancy in mid-July, with entire project completed by the end of September. Learn more at TheIvyBerlinPlace.com.

This development is already attracting additional investment to South Bend. Thank you for your support. Play ball!

39 MIDWEST LEAGUE

40 MIDWEST LEAGUE

To the Millions of Midwest League Fans:

I am thrilled to begin my 4th season as Midwest League President. Each day I realize how lucky I am to have the privilege of working with our 16 teams who are the best in . We have consistently exceeded 4 million fans coming though Midwest gates each season. Therefore, I have the luxury of welcoming our fans in a way which highlights the fact each of you are not only “1 in a million”, but 1 in 4 million!!!

The success of the Midwest League does not happen by accident. Each time I visit the parks around the League I find smiling faces, families holding hands and laughing at the entertainment, and cheering the play on the field. This affordable opportunity each of our Clubs provide to our fans is done with a welcoming smile and a true desire to treat you all as valued guests.

What makes me most proud is how our Clubs are excellent corporate citizens and each year either lead or are among the top 2 or 3 Leagues in Charitable Contributions of all of Minor League Baseball. In fact, more than a dollar per ticket goes back to worthy causes in each of our cities. For this philanthropy I thank our Clubs and fans.

We had a great 2017 Championship Season with the Whitecaps maintaining the best record for a Minor League Team, the TinCaps fielding the youngest team in Minor League Baseball and making it to the final Championship Series, and our Astros affiliate Quad Cities River Bandits winning it all, just like the parent Club in Houston.

So, saddle up, and get ready for another exciting season in the Midwest League; 2018 will be the best ever! A new set of players and teams will be thrilling our fans April through September. Don’t miss an opportunity to take in a Midwest League game, as you’ll experience a lifetime of memories. Play Ball!!!

Sincerely,

Richard A. Nussbaum, II, President
