Provide input and work closely with Special Teams Coordinator Keith Armstrong in addition to individual work with kickers and snappers. Overall Rankings: Falcons’ coverage units have ranked in the top 10 of the NFL each year from 2009-13. 2013 Team Rankings: 5th in Punting (46.7), 7th in Net Punting (42.7), and 8th in Punt Coverage (7.6) 2012 Team Rankings: 1st in Penalties (7), 8th in Kickoff Coverage (22.2 yards per return) 2011 Team Rankings: 1st Punt Coverage (4.6), Forced opponents to start league-high 62 drives inside their own 20 2010 Team Rankings: 1st Kickoff Coverage (Opponents’ avg. drive start at 22.2 yard line after kickoffs) Player Honors: 2013: P Matt Bosher set new franchise record with 41.1 net average; 2012: K Matt Bryant finished tied for 2nd in NFL with 33 made field goals; 2011: Bryant set franchise record for consecutive made field goals (27); 2010: Eric Weems averaged 27.5 yards per kickoff return, which ranked third in the NFL and earned his first Pro Bowl selection. Offensive Quality Control (Asst. TE/OL) Detroit Lions Detroit, MI 2008 Responsible for breaking down game film, compiling weekly stats and charting tendencies of each upcoming opponent. Assisted in preparation of weekly game plan and scouting reports. Provided input and worked closely with Special Teams Coach Stan Kwan, Offensive Line Coach Mike Barry and Tight Ends Coach Pat Carter. In charge of running the scout teams for both offense and special teams. Compiled playbook using Visio, Playmaker, PowerPoint, Word and Excel. Assistant Special Teams Coach Houston Texans Houston, TX 2002 – 2005 Assisted in all phases of Special Teams. Provided input and worked closely with Special Teams Coordinator Joe Marciano in addition to individual work with kickers and snappers. Performed other duties aside from helping out with the Special Teams, such as breaking down opponents’ tendencies and compiling weekly stats for Head Coach. 2005 Team Rankings: 3rd Fewest Penalties, 2nd Yards per Kickoff Return, 6th Punt Coverage, 2nd Drive Start Avg. Player Honors: Kicker had 5 game winners. Punter led the NFL in punts inside the 20 in 2002 & 2003. Snapper had no bad snaps in three years. Avion Black (‘02), Chad Stanley (‘03), Kris Brown (‘04) and Jerome Mathis (‘05) earned NFL Special Teams Player of the Week honors and Jerome Mathis was selected to the Pro Bowl in 2005. NCAA DIVISION I-A Quality Control Coordinator University of Kansas Lawrence, KS 2006 Responsible for kickers and long snappers. Assisted Head Coach and Special Teams Coach with various game preparations. Offensive Graduate Assistant (Tackles) University of Pittsburgh Pittsburgh, PA 2000 Assisted with the Offensive Tackles; helped Head Coach with game planning/statistics; involved with coaching Special Teams. Team Rankings: Finished in the top 20 in Passing Offense in the country in 2000 (NCAA D-1). Offensive Graduate Assistant Louisiana Tech University Ruston, LA 1997 – 1998 Coaching duties included working with both the Offensive Line and Special Teams. Coordinated recruiting effort by planning on-campus and off-campus activities, as well as player and coach travel. Evaluated opponents and developed scouting reports. Team Rankings: Finished in the top three in Total Offense in the country in both 1997 and 1998 (NCAA D-1). Finished in the top three in Passing Offense in the country in both 1997 and 1998 (NCAA D-1). JUNIOR/COMMUNITY COLLEGE Offensive Coordinator (RB/TE) Fort Scott Community College Fort Scott, KS 2001 Directed all facets of offense including organizing practices, developing offensive game plans specific to each opponent and calling plays during games. Due to small coaching staff, also assisted with Special Teams, specifically punt protection and kickoff returns, and Strength and Conditioning. Recruiting areas: Kansas City, Leavenworth, Louisiana, Memphis, Arkansas Team Rankings: Team finished ranked the top Passing Offense in the Jayhawk Conference in 2001. Oversaw Special Teams and was heavily involved in all team off-field activities. Team Rankings: Finished in the top five in Passing Offense in 2000 (NIFL).
