NEWS RELEASE Gray Announces Opening of Washington, D.C NEWS RELEASE Gray Announces Opening of Washington, D.C. News Bureau to Deliver Hyper-Local Coverage and Analysis of National Issues Atlanta, Georgia – February 2, 2015. Gray Television, Inc. (“Gray,” “we,” “us” or “our”) (NYSE: GTN and GTN.A) today announced that it has launched a news bureau in Washington, D.C., to better serve the communities in which its television stations operate by providing highly localized coverage and analysis of issues in front of the federal government. Gray’s Washington News Bureau provides breaking news, interviews, and investigative specials focusing on federal issues, events, and people that are directly impacting the communities of each Gray Television station. The Bureau’s reporters drill down and localize national and international news in ways that only local reporters present in Washington can provide. As a result, the Bureau enables local communities to interact more directly and intimately than ever before with their Senators, Representatives, and administration officials and allows those policy makers to interact with their constituents back home. Gray’s CEO Hilton Howell remarked, “All politics is Washington Bureau Chief Policastro local, even when it takes place in Washington, DC. The interviewing U.S. Senator Rob Washington News Bureau extends our commitment to Portman for Gray’s WTVG-TV in serving our communities by empowering a great team of TV Toledo, Ohio. professionals and partners to deliver the best and most in- depth coverage of the local impacts of federal policy.” Kevin Latek, Gray’s Senior Vice President of Business Affairs, explained, “Through our Washington News Bureau, Gray’s news operations in 44 local markets are able to call upon a professional team of reporters who combine their talents and Washington contacts with personal experience working under the unique challenges and pressures of local television news operations.” As part of its coverage of the President’s State of the Union Address on January 20, 2015, Gray stations were able to deliver more than two-dozen lawmaker interviews and custom news stories to the Company’s local television stations. This platform allowed lawmakers to deliver their messages about the President’s speech directly to their constituents, rather than through a generic national cable news platform, while giving viewers a comprehensive look at how the President’s proposals would impact their communities. To lead the new bureau, Gray has tapped veteran journalist Jacqueline Policastro. Ms. Policastro has previously worked at Associated Press Television in Washington, and has extensive 4370 Peachtree Road, NE, Atlanta, GA 30319 | P 404.504.9828 F 404.261.9607 | www.gray.tv experience as a reporter and anchor in Indianapolis, Indiana, and Erie, Pennsylvania. Ms. Policastro created the DC Bureau for Lilly Broadcasting, and today the Gray and Lilly bureaus collaborate on a daily basis to leverage their resources to bring superior news coverage to their local stations. Commenting on the new bureau, Ms. Policastro said, “It is thrilling to have the opportunity to be part of the ever growing wave of high-quality, hyper-localized news coverage that is redefining our industry. No matter where you live, what happens in Washington, DC impacts your life. Gray’s viewers across the country will now have more and better access to news and analysis on how the actions of Congress and the White House will affect them, while our elected leaders will have a new way to communicate with those they serve.” The Washington News Bureau is located inside the NBC News Capitol Hill Bureau at 400 N Capitol Street, with additional dedicated newsgathering resources in the Senate Radio/TV Gallery. www.cablefaxdaily.com, Published by Access Intelligence, LLC, Tel: 301-354-2101 Cablefax DailyTM Tuesday — October 3, 2017 What the Industry Reads First Volume 28 / No. 189 Crisis Averted: Altice, Disney Avoid Blackouts with Last-Minute Carriage Deal There was a sense in the industry that the carriage negotiations between Disney and Altice USA were too important for both sides going forward for either to give an inch. Facing potential blackouts for NY-area Optimum customers late Sunday afternoon, however, the two sides reached a deal in principle that they could both tolerate. As of press time Monday, neither side would confirm that the deal has been finalized or discuss terms. But sources cited by SportsBusi- ness Journal shed some light on victories and concessions for the folks on each side of the table. Disney reportedly negotiated a price increase for its channels, including ESPN. The size of that increase isn’t clear, but a Bloomberg report cites sources as saying it wasn’t as significant as Disney had hoped. Disney, however, did reportedly score carriage of the SEC Network and soon-to-launch ACC Network despite the fact that neither conference has significant geographic ties to Optimum’s footprint. Other aspects of the deal, including whether Disney was able to obtain a higher penetration threshold for ESPN, remained unavailable Monday. That’s a critical detail for Disney as it seeks to limit distributors’ ability to leave ESPN—the highest-priced cable net—out of bundles. The Altice deal is the first one Disney has had to negotiate since late 2014, when ESPN was still a growth engine.

AT&T/DIRECTV BLACKS OUT LOCAL TV STATIONS IN 97 MARKETS ACROSS THE USA ON JULY 4th AFTER REJECTING NEXSTAR OFFERS TO EXTEND ACCESS FOR CONSUMERS TO LEADING LOCAL CONTENT DIRECTV/AT&T Once Again Holds its Subscribers Hostage Instead of Negotiating in Good Faith and Reaching a Fair Market Rate Agreement with Nexstar, Other Broadcasters and Content Providers IRVING, Texas, July 4, 2019 – Effective 11:59 p.m. local time on July 3, direct broadcast satellite service provider DIRECTV and AT&T U-verse unilaterally dropped the network and local community programming for over 120 stations impacting consumers and viewers in 97 markets across the United States. The action follows DIRECTV ’s refusal to accept an offer of an unconditional extension of the existing distribution agreement to August 2 to allow the stations’ owner, Nexstar Broadcasting Group, Inc. (“Nexstar”) and DIRECTV/AT&T to reach a new agreement allowing the direct broadcast satellite service provider (as well as AT&T’s U-verse systems and its’ subscription streaming television service, DIRECTV NOW) the right to continue to air the highly rated programming. With its long-term record of delivering exemplary service to the local markets where it operates, Nexstar deeply regrets DIRECTV/AT&T’s rejection of the extension as it deprives viewers in the affected markets of broadcasts of leading network content from ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, CW, and MyNetworkTV as well as local news and other programming produced specifically for these local communities. Viewers affected by the loss of service from DIRECTV have several alternatives to continue watching their favorite shows including local cable providers, DISH, over-the-air, certain subscription streaming television services, and services such as Verizon’s FIOS.
