Persons desiring admission to the Radio and Television Galleries of Congress shall make application to the Speaker, as required by Rule 34 of the House of Representatives, as amended, and to the Committee on Rules and Administration of the Senate, as required by Rule 33, as amended, for the regulation of the Senate wing of the Capitol. Applicants shall state in writing the names of all radio stations, television stations, systems, or news- gathering organizations by which they are employed and what other occupation or employment they may have, if any. Applicants shall further declare that they are not engaged in the prosecution of claims or the promotion of legislation pending before Congress, the Departments, or the independent agencies, and that they will not become so employed without resigning from the galleries. They shall further declare that they are not employed in any legislative or executive department or independent agency of the Government, or by any foreign govern- *Information is based on data furnished and edited by each respective gallery. 997 998 Congressional Directory ment or representative thereof; that they are not engaged in any lobbying activities; that they do not and will not, directly or indirectly, furnish special information to any organization, individual, or group of individuals for the influencing of prices on any commodity or stock exchange; that they will not do so during the time they retain membership in the galleries. Holders of visitors’ cards who may be allowed temporary admission to the galleries must conform to all the restrictions of this paragraph. 2. It shall be a prerequisite to membership that the radio station, television station, system, or news-gathering agency which the applicant represents shall certify in writing to the Radio and Television Correspondents’ Galleries that the applicant conforms to the foregoing regulations. 3. The applications required by the above rule shall be authenticated in a manner that shall be satisfactory to the Executive Committee of the Radio and Television Correspondents’ Galleries who shall see that the occupation of the galleries is confined to bona fide news gatherers and/or reporters of reputable standing in their business who represent radio stations, television stations, systems, or news-gathering agencies engaged primarily in serving radio stations, television stations, or systems. It shall be the duty of the Executive Committee of the Radio and Television Correspondents’ Galleries to report, at its discretion, violation of the privileges of the galleries to the Speaker or to the Senate Committee on Rules and Administration, and pending action thereon, the offending individual may be suspended. 4. Persons engaged in other occupations, whose chief attention is not given to—or more than one-half of their earned income is not derived from—the gathering or reporting of news for radio stations, television stations, systems, or news-gathering agencies primarily serving radio stations or systems, shall not be entitled to admission to the Radio and Television Galleries. The Radio and Television Correspondents’ List in the Congressional Directory shall be a list only of persons whose chief attention is given to or more than one-half of their earned income is derived from the gathering and reporting of news for radio stations, television stations, and systems engaged in the daily dissemination of news, and of representa- tives of news-gathering agencies engaged in the daily service of news to such radio stations, television stations, or systems. 5. Members of the families of correspondents are not entitled to the privileges of the galleries. 6. The Radio and Television Galleries shall be under the control of the Executive Committee of the Radio and Television Correspondents’ Galleries, subject to the approval and supervision of the Speaker of the House of Representatives and the Senate Committee on Rules and Administration.     Gerald R. Ford Presidential Library White House Communications Agency (WHCA): Videotapes of Public Affairs, News, and Other Television Broadcasts, 1973-77 WHCA selectively created, or acquired, videorecordings of news and public affairs broadcasts from the national networks CBS, NBC, and ABC; the public broadcast station WETA in Washington, DC; and various local station affiliates. Program examples include: news special reports, national presidential addresses and press conferences, local presidential events, guest interviews of administration officials, appearances of Ford family members, and the 1976 Republican Convention and Ford-Carter debates. In addition, WHCA created weekly compilation tapes of selected stories from network evening news programs. Click here for more details about the contents of the "Weekly News Summary" tapes All WHCA videorecordings are listed in the table below according to approximate original broadcast date. The last entries, however, are for compilation tapes of selected television appearances by Mrs. Ford, 1974-76. The tables are based on WHCA’s daily logs. “Tape Length” refers to the total recording time available, not actual broadcast duration. The findings, based on analysis of interviews with more than five dozen industry thought-leaders and underlined with quantitative research from Bloomberg New Energy Finance’s Intelligence database, are contained in the white paper “Crossing the Valley of Death: Solutions to the next generation clean energy project financing gap.” Clean Energy Group, with the support of The Annenberg Foundation, commissioned Bloomberg New Energy Finance to join in the study, which examines the shortage of capital for clean energy technologies that require extensive and expensive field-testing before being deployed. Covid-19 has had a substantial impact on the BBC’s ability to produce programmes and services. Following advice from the WHO, public health organisations and the Government, the BBC closed the production of many programmes and services across its TV and radio output. The cancellation of key broadcasting events, ceasing of productions, and changes to schedules will continue to have an impact on what audiences see and hear across the BBC across the coming months. 2. Like other organisations continuing to operate during this crisis, the BBC has faced operational challenges. We’ve experienced reduced levels of staffing and the huge increase in demand for the BBC’s internal network as over 15,000 colleagues work from home. For those unable to work from home, safety is paramount and we’ve followed Government advice. 3. The BBC Board took the decision to delay changes to the over-75s licence fee from 1 June to 1 August during an unprecedented time. The decision is to be kept under review. 4. In response to Covid-19, the BBC took swift action at the start of the pandemic to repurpose our services and programmes for the benefit of all audiences ensuring we kept the nation informed, educated and entertained. 5. The BBC enhanced our core role to bring trusted news and information to audiences in the UK and around the world in a fast-moving situation, and to counter confusion and misinformation.
