Study was performed field work, cultivation of specimens in laboratory and identification of harmful species with natural enemies between 2015 and 2016. As result of study, it was detected seven harmful species from three order Camptomyia pinicola Mamaev (Diptera: Cecidomyiidae), Leptoglossus occidentalis Heidemann (Hemiptera: Coreidae), Dioryctria mendacella Staudinger (Lepidoptera: Pyralidae), D. abietella Denis & Schiffermüller, D. peltieri Joannis, Cydia conicolana Heylaerts (Lepidoptera: Tortricidae), and Gravitarmata osmana Obraztsov. D. peltieri from these species is new record for Turkey forests fauna. It was also attained 9 parasitoid species in total Pseudoperichaeta nigrolineata Walker (Diptera: Tachinidae), Elachertus sp. (Hymenoptera: Eulophidae), Schizonotus sieboldi Ratzeburg (Hymenoptera: Pteromalidae), Cotesia sp., Homolobus sp., Ascogaster annularis (Hymenoptera: Braconidae), Anomalon cruentatum (Hymenoptera: Ichneumonidae) and two species from Campopleginae subfamily of same family. It was obtained as a one predator species Anomognathus sp. (Coleoptera: Staphylinidae). It was determined Anomognathus sp. which is a new species for science world, identification studies of this species have continued. The lepidopteran fauna of the former military training area near Oleško (Czech Republic: Ústecký Region) was studied in the year 2008. This area is on sandy ground, the predominant habitats are dry Scots pine forests growing on sand. 700 species were recorded, many of them are markedly psammophilous. Some characteristic spe- cies are very abundant there, namely on open habitats Aroga velocella (Zeller, 1839), Teleiopsis diffinis (Haworth, 1828), Platytes alpinellus (Hübner, 1813), Pyrausta ostrinalis (Hübner, 1796), Paradrina selini (Boisduval, 1840), Agrotis vestigialis (Hufnagel, 1766), Eilema pygmaeolum (Doubleday, 1847), some other species were only recorded individually (Aristotelia brizella (Treitschke, 1833), Helcystogramma lineolellum (Zeller, 1839), Pediasia fasce- linella (Hübner, 1813), Lythria cruentaria (Hufnagel, 1767) and Hadena irregularis (Hufnagel, 1766)). Elatobia fuliginosella (Lienig et Zeller, 1846), Decantha borkhausenii (Zeller, 1839), Epinotia rubiginosana (Herrich- Schäffer, 1851), Cydia conicolana (Heylaerts, 1874)

Jaros & K. Spitzer Abstract The tortricid moth Cydia alazon (Diakonoff, 1976) was collected by light trapping in the pine zone of Tenerife Island in April – May 2003. At the same time larvae were discovered in cones of Pinus canariensis, from which adults emerged during May. The food plant of C. alazon was unknown until now. The moth is widely distributed and locally common in the pine zone of Tenerife, and P. canariensis appears to be the only food plant. Only several old records of adults were known from Gran Canaria and Tenerife, none with ecological data. KEY WORDS: Lepidoptera, Tortricidae, Cydia alazon, food plant, Pinus canariensis, Canary Islands, Spain.

It consists of three lists: a basic one and two supplementaries. The basic list includes all species inPests and Diseases o f Forest Plantation Trees (F G Brown, 1968) occurring in Britain, to which have been added many others from both the literature and from records kept by the Entomology Branch of the Forestry Commission Research and Development Division. Besides insects the list also includes some mites and several nematodes. This list was originally designed for use within the F.C. Research Division as a source of valid insect names and authors together with a selected synonymy for all species with some claim to forest importance or significance. The species included show great variability in status, some being pests of economic importance, while others are of interest only.

When I joined Butterfly Conservation some ten years ago, as a new recruit to the wonderful world of moths, I never envisaged becoming part of the main committee let alone finding myself on this ‘lofty perch’! Firstly, I would like to register my and the Branch’s thanks to Pete Eeles for his support and enthusiasm for the branch during his time as chair, despite the pressures of a job that often saw him away from the country, and to the other members of the main committee for their support and enthusiasm over the past twelve months.

  • Glos Species of Conservation Concern
Gloucestershire Key Wildlife Sites Handbook Part 3: Appendices Appendix 3 – Species of conservation concern in Gloucestershire This Appendix contains the reference species lists for use when assessing the minimum thresholds for selecting KWS on species grounds. General thresholds for different categories of species conservation status are detailed in Part 2 of the KWS Handbook, Section 2.6. Key species groups such at bats, amphibians and butterflies also have an accompanying rationale for site selection, provided by the relevant expert County Recorders. “Schedule” in the Status column of the species lists refers to schedules of The Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 (and subsequent amendments) unless otherwise stated. IUCN Red List refers to the IUCN Global Red List; National Red List is the national listing based on IUCN criteria but applied regionally rather than globally. A longer summary of the legislation and designation categories relating to species status is listed in Appendix 4 . The relevant threshold from the Species Criteria in Section 2.6 is included next to each species list, or individual species entry where applicable. Please note that these tables will be subject to regular updates as and when the status of species is reviewed, and that some species may occasionally be added to, or removed from, the lists. Species assemblage indices may also change from time to time. Please check that you have the latest version of Appendix 3 before assessing a site for KWS selection! If in doubt, a master list of all UK conservation designations is available from the JNCC website here: http://www.jncc.gov.uk/page-3408.
