Pre Cambrian Supra Crustal occurs as linear enclaves in younger granites. ) Basic dyke swarms of more than 100 in number, mainly greenish black dolerite and grabbro are seen in the area. They trend NW - SE, N - S, NNE - SSW, NE - SW and ENE - WSW in order of a abundance with average width of 15 Mts and extend over 150 Mts to tens of kilometers.
d) Geology of the area
Entire quarry lease area is covered with colour granite which is rising up to 10 M above ground level trending N - W, the strike length of the dyke measured 346 M in the area with an average width of 310 M. The dolerite dyke is an intrusive into the country rock granite and granitic gneiss.
Three sets of joints are recorded in the formation )
) 1. N - S Vertical 2. E - W Vertical ) 3. Horizontal / Sheet Joints ) These joints are closely spaced at the contact of the country rock and on the surface giving rise to bouldery nature to the dyke. On the other hand they are widely spaced in the depth as noticed in the quarry sections
,) Regionally the area constitute a part of Peninsular Gneissic complex of Achaean, and occupied by Porphyritic granite, white, grey and pink colour alaskitic granite, u with patches of amphibolites, hornblende schist bonded magnetite quartzites as enclaves in both prophyritic and alaskitic granite.

\ iv) Estimation of Geological Reserves
The Geometry of the Deposit
Geological traverses in the quarry and the study exposures in the quarry facilitated ) to access the shape and size of the deposit in the area. It is a mound deposit raised 10 M above ground level. The surface of sheet rock is wavy and irregular. ) Method of Estimation of Reserves ) A) Category of deposit as per UNFC guidelines : \ ' Though the trend of ore body is N - W direction. The thickness of the deposit is already explored in the existing quarries around the area. The quality of Colour Granite changes at contact zones.
For the present estimation the following procedure has been adopted. As per the classification of UNFC the deposit falls under (IV) Lenses, Veins and Pockets, irregular shaped modest to small size bodies.
Parameters considered for ijeserves / Resources Estimation:
• 3 Geological Cross Sections have been drawn for the assessment. These sections are designated as A-A1 to C-C1.
• Influence: Sectional Influence of 100 M (average) considered.
• Area: Area calculated from the sections where the ore body has been marked.
• Depth : Depths as per the information gathered from neighbouring quarries, which have touched the bottom rock have been considered as proved ) thickness.

_J ,-----._ I The cross sections were drawn perpendicular to the strike direction, the cross sectional area of the individual sections are calculated to arrive at sectional area, the area thus arrived is multiplied by the sectional influence of 100 M (Average) to arrive the volume of rock mass.
Since the recovery of the marketable blocks and tiles in the previous years 40% rough blocks. Now the recovery percentage of 30% is considered for extracting the dimensional stones.
Categorization of Reserves ' ) As no detailed exploration is conducted by boreholes, only exposed resources and ) existing pits in the quarry areas in surrounding the subject area are considered for Reserve Estimation. )
The exposed outcrops and the reserves upto 61 M below the surface are ' ) considered under Proved Category of Reserves (upto RL 240 M) (Plate-Ill).
Hence, only G1 (Proved) scale category as (111) code is calculated. No resources ) are considered under G2 & G3 (Probable & Possible) scale of exploration.
As per UNFC guidelines the G3 (333) (Possible) category are not considered as they are not mineable unless proved by exploration.
Even after obtaining the 30% blocks the recovery of sizeable large blocks would be around 25% and 75% would be marginal blocks for obtaining smaller sizes.

by by of of The Colour Granite in the quarry lease area is exposed on the surface with boulders. Hence, it is proposed to quarry the boulders / sheet by open cast, semi mechanized methods, by developing the benches of 9 M height in 3 phases of 3 M each with 3 M bench width. Wire Saw cutting will be deployed based on the favourable conditions. The development of benches in the sheet rock will be maintained @ 60° safety slopes.
The separation of blocks from the mother rock will be carried out by drilling and chiseling with hammers with small pressure after Wire Saw operations, drilling and dousing with excavators will be done by through poclain teeth or with bucket separating from the mother rock.
The secondary splitting, dressing of blocks will be done manually or poclain bucket () by tam rock machine with drilling and splitting. Therefore, quarrying operations to be carried out in this area in 2 stages.
1) Development 2) Production
Stage -1
The removal of weathered and under sized boulders will be cleared in the quarry lease applied area for the first five years by using excavator.
The sheet exposed will be subjected to drilling with compressors and tam rocks, ) chiseling with hammers applying pressure by poclain teeth and splitting from ) mother rock.
Rock Splitting / Wedging :
) Thus 20' x 20' to 40' x 20' to 40' mass will be separated from mother rock by drilling the slotter holes on both sides of the mass and a top hole intersecting these two ) holes and wiresaw rope is passed through and cutting is done horizontally and vertically and by this there will be mass opening on all the sides from the mother mass.
Stage - 2 ..) After removal of weathered and under sized boulders . •
• )
16
...) • If the boulders, which fit into the required market grade size will be transformed into cuboids.
Secondary Splitting:
After separation from the mother rock, it is properly checked by washing with water to identify defects and cracks. Based on this observation, the size is decided and the blocks are marked and separated by drilling and wedging.
( The separated pieces will be examined for defects and lines, then the block or blocks are marked in clear area and holes are drilled along the line of marking, with the help of feathers and wedges and the waste portions are separated forming a rectangular blocks. Any bulges will be removed by drilling and wedging making it perfect blocks. A perfect block is that all the sides shall make with each other 90°.
Dressing
a) Dressing of dimensional rough blocks for export :
Dressing is final phase of quarrying operation, wherein the secondary rough blocks ) are squared into regular perfect rectangular sizes, thereby avoiding uneven bulge or cavities and other defects. Jackhammers with compressor, feather end wedges and sledgehammers are equipment's generally used for dressing the block.
) b) Dressing of rough blocks for domestic processing plant :
Dressing by means of squaring and splitting will be done for rough blocks of the size varying between 120 x 90 x 80 Cm to 300 x 200 x 190 Cm.
) c) Description of granite processing plant :
) The company does not possess processing plant.

Measures to be adopted for Solid Waste
The granite body exposed to the surface. Hence, the weathering on the surface of the rock closely spaced joints and shears along with inherent defects like moles, dark patches and acidic veins contribute a large extent of waste generation during the quarrying.
i) Reduction of waste at source :
a) Where the defect less and defective bands are distinct in the quarry resorting to strip quarrying may be helpful in reduction of waste.
) b) Controlled and cushion blasting may be helpful in generation of less blasting waste.
c) Employing experienced and skilled workers in the production and dressing of rough blocks may help in generation of less waste rock.
ii) Utilisation of waste if not prevented :
• Soil can be utilised for reclamation of degraded ar
