Clara Zabitski Mrs. Clara M. Zabitski, 76, Martins Ferry, died Thursday morning, May 4. in Martins Ferry Hospital. She was born July 3, 1895, in Poland. She was a member of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, Martins Ferry, and was preceded in death by her husband, Charles, in 1939, and a son, John, in 1965. Surviving are a son, Joseph of Martins Ferry, with whom she made her home, three daughters, Mrs. Ann Rykowski of Martins Ferry, Mrs. Sophia McKay of St. Clairsville, Mrs. Mario (Stella) Veneri of RD, Powhatan, two brothers, and one sister in Poland, 10 grand children and four great grand children. Mass of Resurrection was held Monday at St. Mary’s Church, Martins Ferry, with Msgr. Joseph J. Kloss as celebrant. Interment was in Riverview Cemetery, Martins Ferry. Elizabeth Zabitski Elizabeth J. Zabitski, 67, 237 N. 7lh St., Martins Ferry, died Monday in East Ohio Regional Hospital at Martins Ferry. She was bom Aug. 25, 1925 in Martins Ferry, daughter of the late George and Bertha Corise Micker. She was a former beautician and a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Martins Ferny. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Zabitski; a brother, Rudy Micker; a sister, Martha Micker. Surviving are a son, Joseph Zabit ski of Martins Ferry; a brother, George Micker of Martins Ferry; three sisters, Mary Micker of St. Clairsville, Bertha Holland of Mor ristown and Mrs. Edward (Ann) Rec tor of Harrisville; two grandchildren. Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Keller Funeral Home, Martins Ferry, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, with Monsignor Stanley Zekas, in charge of services. Burial follows in Riverview Cemetery, Martins Ferry. J oseph Zabitski Joseph P. Zabitski, 6i\of 816 Fox Ave'., Martins Ferry, died Wednesday in Martins Ferry Hospital. He was bom Sept. 29, 1923 at Stewartsville, a son of the late Charles and Clara Zabitski. A member of Construction Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 83, he was a member of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Martins Ferry and a veteran of the U.S. Army in World War II. Surviving are his wife, > Elizabeth Micker Zabitski; a son, Joseph L. at home; three sisters, Ann Rykowski of Martins Ferry, Sophia McKay of St. Clairsville, Stella Veneri of Powhatan Point. Friends will be received at the Keller Funeral Home, Martins Ferry, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today and Friday, where ser vices will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. Tom Magary officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Martins Ferry. Rosary devo tions will be recited at 3 p.m. Friday in the funeral home. ZABLACKAS, Frank, 89, of Weirton, W.Va., died Friday, Dec. 19, 2003 in the Weirton Medical Center. He was born on August 2, 1914 in Steubenville, Ohio, the son of the late William and Antoinette Similonski Zablackas. Frank retired after 44 years of service as a welder in the weld ing shop of Weirton Steel. He was the co-founder of the Weir ton Termite Association, where he coached baseball and basket ball for 15 years. Frank was a member of Saint Paul Roman Catholic Church, Holy Name Society, Saint Paul Cub Scouts and a Charter member of the K of C 3734, the 25 Year Club of Weirton Steel, the Madonna High School Boosters and Saint Paul Boosters. His love for pho tography enabled him to be the | historian for ail the organizations that he was affiliated with. He is survived by his wife, Sophie Yarosz Zablackas, whom he married on Nov. 8, 1941; his four sons, Francis and his wife, Carolyn, of Weirton, John and his wife, Gretchen, of Sarasota, Fla., William and his wife, Peggy, of Weirton and Lawrence and his wife, Sandy, of Fort Myers, Fla.; his two daughters, Carolyn Dennler of Pittsburgh, Pa. and Christine Benard and her husband, Michael, of Rochester, N.Y.; a sister, Della Kalisz of Steubenville, Ohio; 14 grand children; and seven great-grand children. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6:30-9 p.m. Monday at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton where Knights of Columbus Rosary at 7 p.m. Monday. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Saint Paul Roman Catholic Church. Interment will follow in St. Paul Cemetery. Anthony Zaborek T-l Anthoney (Tony) Zaborek, 70, formerly of Maynard, died Sun day in Ohio Valley Hospital, Steubenville. He was born June 17, 1917 at Maynard, a son of the late Frank and Cecelia Novak Zaborek. 7 FFB HSfi He was a former em ployee of Wheeling and Lake Erie Railroad, and a Catholic. He was preceded in death by a brother, John Zaborek; two sisters, Mary Ann Scott and Sophia Pouvelle. Surviving are two brothers , Joe of Moundsville, and Mike of St. Joe, Bellaire; a sister, Mrs. Stanley (Amelia) O’Fat of St. Clairsville. Friends will be received at the Beck Funeral Home, St. Clairs ville, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tues day. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Wed nesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Neffs, with Monsignor Mark Froehlich, the celebrant. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, St. Clairsville. ZABOREK, Mike, 88, of Neffs, Ohio, died Tuesday, February 26, 2013, at his home. Mike was born February 22, 1925, in Maynard, Ohio, a son of the late Frank and Cecelia Novak Zaborek. He was retired from Consol Coal Corporation, was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Neffs, OH, where he was a member of the Holy Name Society. He was a member of the Neffs Rod and Gun Club, Benwood American Legion, U.M.W.A. was an avid Bluegill Fisherman, Notre Dame and Steelers fan. / L~- Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, was his first wife, Elizabeth M. “Betty’* Halicky Zaborek in 2000: three brothers, John. Anthony and Joseph Zaborek; and three sisters, Amelia Ofat, Mary Ann Scott and Sophia Touvelle. Surviving is his wife B. She was bom Dec. 29, 1917 in Bridgeport, the daughter of the late Matthew and Mary Merlek Strauss. Jennie was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Wolfhurst and was a retired press operator for NCR in Cambridge. Ohio. She was a member of the SNPJ Lodge 13, the KSKJ Lodge 123 and the Bellaire DAV. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband. Joseph Zaboroski in 1944; a son, Richard Zaboroski; a brother, Anthony Strauss and two sisters, Mary Longar and Helen Eliason. Surviving are a sonj, Joseph Zaboroski of Rolling Mea dows, 111.; two grandchildren: Mark Zaboroski and his wife, Katie and Jamie Ann Zaboroski, all of Rolling Meadows, 111.; a great-grand son, Alex and a great-grand- idaughler, Madison.
