TradeDoubler, who recently appointed Stig-Arne Larsson, the former CEO of Telia as Chairman, is headquartered in Stockholm and was founded in August 1999 by Felix Hagnö and Martin Lorentzen, two Swedish entrepreneurs with substantial Internet and IT experience. Since its formation, TradeDoubler has established itself as Europe's leading provider of performance-based marketing solutions for e-merchants and content sites. The Company has developed its own technology platform, which allows it to offer its customers, and affiliates a wide range of services, with the core service being pay-for performance marketing. Carl Johan Grandison, Operating Manager for the Nordic countries, said: “We intend to offer our services in a number of European countries and to have local teams in each of them. These teams will be able to focus on the local issues in each country in order to offer our clients the best possible performance from their affiliate programme”. Commenting on the announcement today, Felix Hagnö, Chief Executive Officer of TradeDoubler, said: “We are delighted to offer our services across Scandinavia. As our customers expand throughout Europe, we want to be able to offer them an easier way of managing their affiliate networks in every country. TradeDoubler is currently the only Company that offers this solution in such a wide range of countries throughout Europe.” “Our customers are also finding that as costs associated with online advertising and marketing are increasingly significant, the TradeDoubler solution can provide a pay-for success solution that is the most cost effective way of attracting new online customers because the customer only pays for the traffic that we deliver from our affiliate network.” IBM in Copenhagen will run all the hosting for Denmark, Finland, Norway, the UK, and Sweden. Affiliate marketing is set to become one of the most effective business marketing tools in the near future. According to Gartner Group, more than 50 per cent of online sales will come from affiliate sites by 2002. Forrester Research predicts that by 2003 companies with affiliate programs will generate 21 percent of revenues from affiliates. TradeDoubler plans to expand its services into Germany and France in the coming months. Clients include Bidlet, EPO.com and Wideyes. The Company provides its customers with a complete platform to manage affiliate marketing programs, recognized as being the most cost-effective online advertising alternative. Online affiliate marketing is a performance-based marketing solution, where e-merchants and content sites only pay for the promotions that lead to click-throughs, registrations or sales. TradeDoubler has established a secure and reliable technology platform that tracks the traffic generated by each link placed by its clients across the TradeDoubler affiliate website network. The TradeDoubler platform is able to track the actions of an online customer who has clicked through to one of TradeDoubler’s clients’ sites. When an online customer clicks-through to, registers on, or purchases a service or product on the client site, TradeDoubler administers payment of a success fee to the affiliate site that generated the traffic to the client site. TradeDoubler generates revenue by collecting a commission for its services. In contrast to many of its competitors there are no start up costs, fixed fees or software to install. It acts as a trusted third party between the online merchant that is paying the referral fees for traffic, and the affiliate that is receiving a commission for guiding its traffic to the merchant’s website. As the leading provider of an online affiliate marketing solution, TradeDoubler provides the largest affiliate network from which online clients can draw traffic in Europe. Stig-Arne Larsson, the former CEO of Telia, is Chairman of TradeDoubler. For further information please visit www.tradedoubler.com. - ENDS -.
