Jayasooriya and Dr. Gamika Prathapasinghe who toiled hard together to create an avenue for commercialization of their research outcomes. Making a reality of their utmost desire to commercialize their research outcomes, the two academics started their productions in the year 2009 at cottage level, producing two products. The first two products of the Vetgrow were Bones-Up; nutritional supplement for dogs and Fur-Up; shampoo for dogs, cats as well as for horses. Vetgrow was registered as a limited liability private company under the Registrar of Companies, Sri Lanka in 2014. Currently 12 members of the staff work at the factory and the office of Vetgrow. The Vetgrow products are unique as they always come through academic research. In order to maintain the quality of the products, the production process of each product is carefully examined by the two academics from time to time by self-involving in the production process and these products are manufactured to internationally accepted standards. The composition of all the products have been tested by the Industrial Technology Institute (ITI) and Veterinary Research Institute (VRI) in Sri Lanka. All the products have been protected under trade secrets or by obtaining IP rights under patents. VETGROW monitors the quality and nutritional value of their products constantly and is dedicated to protect their good name and loyalty of its customers. 3 Vision To become a centre of excellence in innovative research activities directly related to livestock and pet animal nutrition industries in Sri Lanka Mission Designing and execution of research endeavors related to livestock sector and veterinary profession and innovative approaches to introduce the research outcome for the upliftment of the livestock industries in the country. 4 Veterinary Products Innovation Continues Anura P.
