The digital agenda will have a great impact on the regional authorities’ role in the development of society, including in relation to developing new digital services, educational responsibility for providing new generations with sufficient digital knowledge, and new e-democracy solutions. The regional authorities are also responsible for installing fast broadband services throughout Norway that can contribute to the establishment of innovative businesses and new workplaces.

It is important to facilitate coordination with electronic solutions in other European countries. This affects, for example, the revision of regulations for electronic communication, security and trust, consumer protection and data protection.
