PRIMA PAGINA Carolina Kostner e Martina Valcepina argento alla prima stagionale Esordio stagionale a Salt Lake City, USA, per la World Cup di Short Track. Martina Valcepina conquista l’argento nei 500 metri e dedica il suo podio a Marco Simoncelli, lo sfortunato motociclista italiano deceduto durante la gara di Sepang, in Malesia, domenica scorsa. Alice raggiunge così in gara Carolina Kostner e Valentina Marchei ottenendo un ottimo terzo posto nelle qualificazioni - passavano le prime dieci- con il punteggio di 78.81, suo record personale nel programma libero. Federica Testa e Christopher Mior si aggiungono invece nella Danza alle altre coppie italiane Federica Faiella/Massimo Scali e Lorenza Alessandrini/Simone Vaturi. La coppia Azzurra si è classificata quarta -passavano le prime otto- nella gara dei preliminari con il punteggio di 67.90. In Single and Pair skating all entered participants skate the Short Program. At the European Figure Skating Championships the best placed 20 Men and Ladies and 16 Pairs qualify for the final Free Skating. The Ice Dance competition starts with the Compulsory Dance, which all entered couples have to skate, the best 30 placed couples will continue the event with the Original Dance and at the European Figure Skating Championships the best 16 placed couples qualify for the final Free Dance GENERAL RULES ISU Championships are held in accordance with the International Skating Union (ISU) Regulations. Carolina, dopo la vittoria nella tappa d’esordio del Grand Prix 2010/2011 a Nagoya, in Giappone, conquista un altro podio dimostrando che la stagione può essere per lei ricca di soddisfazioni. La gara individuale femminile è stata vinta dalla giapponese Kanako Murakami con 164.93 punti e due secondi posti, sia nel corto che nel libero. In seconda posizione la statunitense Rachel Flatt con 162.86, autrice di un programma libero praticamente perfetto che le ha permesso di recuperare lo svantaggio in classifica al termine del corto. Con la Kostner unica atleta italiana impegnata a Portland, nell’individuale maschile il successo è andato al giapponese Daisuke Takahashi (227.07 punti), davanti ad un altro giapponese, Nobunari Oda (226.09) e allo statunitense Armin Mahbanoozadeh (211.17). Fra le coppie vittoria dei tedeschi Aliona Savchenko e Robin Szolkowy con 197.70 punti, mentre nella Danza prima posizione per la coppia statunitense Meryl Davis / Charlie White (156.68 punti). Per entrambe le coppie primo posto sia nel corto che nel libero.
