In addition to our organization, Mary Ann enjoys membership in the National Slovak Society. She is also active in the work of the Western Pennsylvania Slovak Cultural Association, where she is a member of the board. She actively participates in numerous Pitts- burgh area activities promoting our rich Slovak heritage and tradi- tions. Responding to the announcement that she had been selected as our 2016 Fraternalist of the Year, Mary Ann said “I enjoy participating in many Slovak Catholic Sokol activities and spend my time doing many things related to Slovak culture. I am very proud of my Slovak heritage and have passed this onto my sons and my grandchildren.....” Mary Ann hails from a well-known Sokol family.
