Girl’s Lacrosse Team Shows Strength and Strong Leadership by Selma Handzic ‘09 co-Sports Editor

The girl’s Lacrosse team started off with a new spring season fi lled with many practices and games. Several weeks into the season, the team stands at a 4-2 record. With wins against Cherry Hill East and Maple Shade they hope to gain more experience and overcome more teams. A close loss against Northern Burlington was very surprising with a score of 15-14. The team has another chance to try and regain their victory with their next home game against Northern Burlington on May 8 at 3:45 pm. “We would like to have a winning season and to beat the teams we lost to the fi rst time,” exclaimed As- sistant Coach Laura Rickus. The team consists of eight seniors including Teresa Campbell, Jackie Jones Amy Koebert, Ashley Schlind- wein, Meghan O’Malley, Theanna Longo, Jessica Wilczynski and Erica Quinn. There is also a mix of underclass- men on the Varsity team .The three team captains are Amy Koebert, Teresa Campbell and Ashley Schlindwein. “Although we haven’t won many games were still very strong and united as a team and we work our hard- est to try and defeat our opponents,” exclaims Junior Molly Bresnahan. Two main rivals that the lacrosse team hopes to defeat are Holy Cross and Delran. With a 19-9 loss against Holy Cross, there are still hopes to redeem themselves on their next game on May 6. They will be facing the Delran photo courtesy of the Buccaneer bears for the fi rst time this season on May 12 at the .
