2002-09-04 15:17 CEST Boldøjet er rettet mod EM Efter VM-slutrunden i Japan/Sydkorea er det danske landshold nu på udkig efter en plads ved EM-slutrunden i Portugal i 2004. Danmark spiller på lørdag sin første kamp i EM-kvalifikationsturneringen mod Norge i Oslo. Som hovedsponsor for det danske fodboldlandshold benytter Arla Foods lejligheden til at invitere kunder og forretningsforbindelser med til kampen. ”Vi bruger fodboldsponsoratet aktivt over for vores kunder, men går ikke bredere ud til forbrugerne. Heroppe kender forbrugerne især vores mærker Høng, Buko og Apetina, mens Arla navnet er mindre kendt”, siger datterselskabsdirektør i Arla Foods Norge Lars Poulsen. Arla Foods afsætter feta, skimmelost, fløde- og smøreost samt gul ost til det norske marked. Især dansk feta er blevet et hit blandt nordmændene. Over 90 pct. af den feta, der sælges på markedet, er importeret fra Danmark, og Arla Foods har i det sidste år mere end fordoblet salget af feta til nabolandet i nord. Arla Foods omsætter årligt for omkring 100 mio. kr. i Norge. Kampen mod Norge spilles på Ullevaal Stadion, og det stadion vækker søde minder hos danske fodboldfans. Det var her, at Danmark i 1985 med den nuværende landstræner Morten Olsen på holdet vandt 5-1 over Norge i kvalifikationsturneringen til VM i Mexico i 1986. However, until now researchers have not provided a conclusive picture of how celebrity endorsement works. Most researchers, within the literature, agree that there needs to be a “natural fit” between celebrity and brand for the endorsement to be effective. It has been argued that personality is one of the main attributes for creating such fit. However, no empirical tests have been undertaken to examine this matter, nor has the consumers’ part been taken into account. Thus, this thesis examines how a personality fit between celebrity-brand-consumer may lead to more effective celebrity endorsement. This matter has been examined for the high involvement affective product category, within the Western culture. A conceptual model has been theoretically accounted for, which illustrates how personality fit affects advertisement attitude, brand attitude and brand uplift. The model has been tested by use of a quantitative online survey, to which qualitative measures was utilized to heighten the validity of the survey. The model has been statistically supported and results further indicate that the greater the personality fit, the greater the effect on brand uplift. Further, the results indicate that if a celebrity with a low personality fit is used; such advertisement may actually be less effective than if an unknown model was used.

United fans will remember that their team produced epic performances against Italian opposition en route to the 1999 final, whereas AC Milan’s encounters with English opposition are surprisingly thin on the ground. They have played against English teams only three times in the last quarter of a century and have not met any English sides since they were drawn against both Chelsea FC and Leeds United AFC in the 2000/01 campaign. A thrilling and evenly-balanced tie is in prospect. This will be the third tie between the clubs in UEFA competitions with AC Milan successful on the previous two occasions, both in the Champion Clubs’ Cup semi-finals. Though Manchester United won both games at Old Trafford, the margin of AC Milan’s wins in Italy in the 1957/58 and 1968/69 seasons enabled them to progress. The clubs’ first meeting was the first European game after the Munich air crash, while the latter win eliminated the holders of the competition. In the 1957/58 tie, Paolo Maldini’s father Cesare took part in the game, and in 1968/69 Fabio Cudicini, father of the Chelsea FC player, was AC Milan’s keeper.
