MURRUMBIDGEE LOCAL HEALTH DISTRICT COVID-19 Data Update

There are no further cases of COVID-19 reported in Murrumbidgee Local Health District (MLHD) over the past 24 hours, with the total number of cases in the Murrumbidgee region remaining at 56 since the onset of the pandemic.

A total of 69,073 tests have been conducted in the Murrumbidgee region, an increase of 214 in the past 24 hours.

“Please come forward for testing even if you have the mildest of symptoms like a runny nose or scratchy throat, cough, fever or other symptoms that could be COVID-19,” urges Acting Public Health Director Alison Nikitas.

Tests undertaken at any of the MLHD’s testing clinics are FREE and completely confidential. You can be tested at any of the following hospital clinic sites: , , Griffith, Leeton, or . Call the Murrumbidgee COVID-19 Hotline on 1800 831 099 to book an appointment.

Commonwealth funded GP-Led Respiratory Clinics have been set up in , Young, Griffith, Tumut, Wagga Wagga and Deniliquin. Bookings can be made by calling Health Direct on 1800 022 222 or book online at www.hotdoc.com.au

In addition, some General Practitioners (GPs) provide access to COVID-19 testing in their practice. You should call and enquire before making an appointment if you think you may need to be tested.

*Active cases are locally acquired COVID-19 cases with onset in the last four weeks. This is based on the date the person first developed symptoms. When no date of symptom onset is available (it is either under investigation by public health staff or the person tested positive without showing symptoms), the date of the positive test is used.

CALL THE HOTLINE Members of the community can call the Murrumbidgee COVID-19 Hotline (open every day from 7am – 9pm) on 1800 831 099 to arrange an appointment at their nearest testing centre, whether that be a clinic or a GP practice. Tests undertaken at any of the MLHD’s testing clinics are FREE and completely confidential. GP TESTING The community can also access COVID-19 testing through local General Practitioners (GP) or at the Commonwealth funded GP-Led Respiratory Clinic in Gundagai, Young, Griffith, Wagga Wagga or Deniliquin.

DROP IN TO A MOBILE CLINIC The Murrumbidgee Mobile Testing Clinic is travelling across the District. MLHD urges people not to wait for a mobile visit, but to call the COVID-19 hotline on 1800 831 099 to book an appointment if they feel the slightest bit unwell.
