The Prairie View A&M University men's basketball team will conclude its (8-17, 5-6 in SWAC) three game road trip with a Monday night contest at Grambling St. The Panthers defeated Grambling State at home 94-82 on Jan. 16. PVAMU last won at Grambling on Feb. 16, 2015, posting a 95-44 win. NOVEMBER LAST TIME OUT The Panthers lost at Jackson St. 78-69 on Saturday. Bellinger scored a team-high 21 points along with four rebounds, two assists and two steals Saturday at Jackson St. Bellinger earned Southwestern Athletic Conference Player of the Week honors after wins over Alabama A&M and 10 at Texas St. (Texas St. AA) L, 57-64 Alabama St., averaging 19.0 points, 6.5 rebounds, 5.0 assists, and 2.0 steals, including a career-high 27 points, with six rebounds, five 13 at Louisiana Tech L, 52-65 assists, and two steals vs. Alabama St. In the Jan. 16 win over Grambling St., he scored 20 points with five rebounds and a career-high 17 at Utah (Pac 12 Networks) L, 60-92 11 assists. Bellinger scored 12 points against Jackson State along with a season-high six assists. Bellinger scored a then-career-high 24 points in 26 minutes against Texas Southern, making eight of 13 shots (3-of-6 on 3s) and all five free throw attempts while adding four 22 at George Mason (A-10 Network) L, 59-75 rebounds and two steals. In the past 13 games, Bellinger is averaging 15.7 points, 4.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 2.2 steals per game. He ranks tied for fifth in the SWAC in scoring (14.9 ppg), 12th in field goal FEBRUARY percentage (43.2%), third in free-throw percentage (78.4%), third in three-point field goal percentage (40.8%), and third in threes made per game (2.3) while averaging 3.9 rebounds per game. In the win over Alabama St. Hamilton scored 16 points and added six 4 at Texas Southern* L, 61-74 rebounds and a pair of assists against the Hornets. Hamilton has three 20+ point scoring games this season, including a team-high 25 11 at Jackson St.* L, 69-78 points along with five rebounds and a career-high tying two blocked shots at Arkansas-Pine Bluff. VALLEY ST.^* 5 p.m. SETTING THE PACE Senior guard Ja'Donta Blakley is third in the SWAC in assists (3.6/gm) and is tied for second in steals (1.8/gm) while 20 ARKANSAS-PINE BLUFF^* 7:30 p.m. averaging 5.7 points and 3.6 rebounds per game. He scored 11 points with three rebounds, ,six assists and three steals Saturday at 25 at Alabama A&M* 6 p.m. Jackson State. He had six points, four rebounds, six assists and four steals in the win over Alabama State. He scored seven points, with 27 at Alabama St.* 7:30 p.m. four rebounds, three assists and three steals in Saturday's win over Alabama A&M. Blakley scored a season-high 12 points with four rebounds, five assists and three steals against Texas Southern Jan. 7. Blakley scored 11 points and had a season-high eight assists in the win at Fresno State Nov. 14 and corralled a season-high seven rebounds at UTSA Nov. 19, and had nine points on 4-of-6 shooting with MARCH five assists and a career high eight steals at Louisiana Tech on Dec. 13, the most in the SWAC this season. 2 SOUTHERN*^ 7:30 p.m. JETT-SETTING F Shay'rone Jett has started the last five games for the Panthers, averaging 8.1 points and 4.3 rebounds per game, He 4 ALCORN ST.*^ 5 p.m. posted season highs in points (21) and rebounds (seven) in a starting role in the win at Miss.
