L.E.A.P. - LEISURE EDUCATION AND ADAPTIVE PROGRAMMING Is a program of adaptive recreation for individuals with disabilities offered through the Springfield Park District. L.E.A.P. programs are for individuals from pre-school through adult. Special populations we serve include but are not limited to: learning disabilities, physically impaired, behavior problems, visually impaired, multiple disabilities, or those with any other special needs. What is Special Olympics? Special Olympics is a way to promote fun, sportsmanship, friendship, independence and good health for the special needs population. Along with the Springfield Park District, Special Olympics Illinois is offering year-round programs with a wide range of sports for athletes to choose from. With instruction in beginning skills to world-wide competition, athletes are invited to explore this program.
