1st GRAND PRIX IZOLA – BUTAN PLIN Sunday,23rd February 2014

SPECIFIC REGULATIONS

Article 1 – ORGANIZATION 1st Grand Prix Izola – Butan plin cycle race is organized by: Slovenian Cyclig Federation Celovška cesta 25 1000 LJUBLJANA, SLOVENIJA Tel.:+386 1 239 66 00, Fax:+386 1 239 66 06, E-mail: [email protected] The event is organized under the regulations of the International Cycling Union (UCI) and will take place on 23rd February 2014.

Article 2 – TYPE OF EVENT The event is open to athletes of the following categories: Men Elite and Men Under 23. The event is entered on the “UCI Europe Tour” calendar and is registered as a UCI class 1.2 event. Article 3 – PARTICIPATION As per article 2.1.005 of the UCI regulations, the event is open to the following teams: UCI Professional Continental Teams of the country, UCI Continental Teams, National Teams, Regional and Club Teams. As per article 2.2.003 of the UCI regulations, teams must be formed of minimum 5 and maximum 8 riders.

Article 4 – RACE HEADQUARTERS - PERMANANCE On Sunday, 23nd February 2014, the race headquarters shall be open from 8.00 am till 7.00 pm. The race headquarters are located at the following address:

Team representatives are requested to confirm their starters and collect their race numbers at the race headquarters from 8.00 am to 9.00 am on SUNDAY,23rd February 2014.

The team managers' meeting, organized in accordance with article 1.2.087 of the UCI regulations, in the presence of the Members of the Commissaries’ Panel, is scheduled for Sunday, 23rd February 2014 at 10.00 am at OBČINA IZOLA, Sončno nabrežje 8, 6310 IZOLA.

Article 5 – RADIO TOUR Race information will be transmitted on the following “Radio-Tour” frequency: 160.575 Mhz.Teams will be provided with radion stations which will be delivered on Sunday,23rd February 2014 from 9.00 am to 11.30 at the start/finish area.

Article 6 – NEUTRAL TECHNICAL SUPPORT The technical support service is handled by KEMO team. The neutral support is taken care of by three OPEL vehicles.

Article 7 – START / FINISH Izola – TRG REPUBLIKE IZOLA.

Article 8 – START TIME The start of the race will be at 12.00.

Article 9 – TEAM PRESENTATION The presentation of the whole team and the signing of the starting sheet will be from 10.45 am to 11.45 am at the start/finish area.

Article 10 – COURSE Total: 142,0 km

Article 11 – FINISHING TIME LIMITS Any competitor finishing in a time exceeding that of the winner by more than 8% shall not be placed. The time limit may, in exceptional circumstances, be increased by the Commissaires' Panel in agreement with the organizer.

Article 12 – SECONDARY CLASSIFICATIONS The following classifications will be issued:

 MOUNTAIN PRIMES There are 5 Mountain Primes, all of the same category and marked with 5, 3, 2, 1 points. The winner of Mountain Primes is the rider with the maximum number of points. In case of several riders with the same number of points the decision is in accordance with article 2.6.017 bis of the UCI regulations. 1. The number of wins on Mountain Primes 2. Higher classification on the finish line.

 INTERMEDIATE SPRINT There are 6 Intermediate Sprints in the race which are marked with 5, 3, 2, 1 points. The winner of Intermediate Sprint is the rider with the maximum number of points. In case of several riders with the same number of points the decisive elements are: 1. The number of wins/second, third or fourth places on Intermediate Sprints 2. Higher classification on the finish line.

Only competitors, who finish the race, or are not excluded by the Commissaires' Panel due to exceeded time limits, are entitled to prize money for Mountain Primes and Intermediate Sprints.

Article 13 – PRIZES Prizes are according to the UCI Regulations and will be payed out as follows:

A grand total of € 3.832,00 will be awarded in prize money at the event.

Article 14 - ANTIDOPING The UCI antidoping regulations together with the local legislation are entirely applicable to the event. The anti-doping tests will take place at OBČINA IZOLA, Sončno nabrežje 8, 6310 IZOLA.

Article 15 – AWARDS CEREMONY

In accordance with article 1.2.112 of the UCI rules, the following riders must present themselves for the official awards ceremony:  The first three riders of the race The leader of the following secondary classifications:  The winner of the Mountain Primes  The winner of the Intermediate Sprints

The riders must present themselves at the podium in a time limit of maximum 10 minutes after crossing the finish line.

Article 16 - PENALTIES The UCI penalty scale is the only one applicable.

Article 17 – FEEDING ZONE The feeding zone will be located between kilometer 86,7 (Gračišče) and 97,1 (Sv. Anton). As per article 2.3.027 of the UCI rules, feeding is not allowed during the first 50 and last 20 km.

Article 18 – DEVIATION TEAM MANAGER VEHICLES The team manager vehicles will be directed 200 m before the finish line.

Article 20 – ENVIRONMENT PROTECTION In the feeding zone you can find an area for the disposal of bottles and any other waste.

Article 21 – OTHER PROVISIONS

 The organizer will secure the racing course in compliance with the provisions of Ministry of Internal Affairs. The racers and their attendants are obliged to consider the instructions of the race management, referees and policemen.  The organizer will not be held responsible for any damages, which participants might cause one to another.  The racers ride at their own responsibility. By signing the starting sheet they have fully accepted the rules of this Specific Regulations.  In accordance with commissaries’ panel the organizer reserves a right to modify this Specific Regulations.
