Children are once again going back to school and adult work schedules are resuming after vacation time taken. To our business owners and professional community in Niles, I hope that the products you sell and the services you provide were much in demand. I invite you to work with me to create a better environment within which to grow and prosper. To residents, please know that I stand eager and ready to improve our quality of life here in Niles. On Saturday, September 7, this administration will roll out the third Niles Community Block Party at the Human Services/Fitness Center building and at the Village Hall. There will be many activities for children and adults. You’ll have the opportunity to learn about social services and the children can play and have fun. During the event, there will be an open house of the Village Hall’s newly remodeled 2nd floor. I trust you’ll applaud the new design for its practical reinvention of office space and the small impact upon our budget. In October, we’ll have an event to celebrate the Leaning Tower of Niles, which is completing a long and meticulous restoration process. The reinstallation and expansion of the historic Leaning Tower bells will enliven the Tower Plaza, which will be filled with social programs and activities. Also, this year’s Holly Jolly Christmas Tree lighting event will be bigger and better than ever at Civic Center Plaza on November 30. Please, in the interest of building the community of Niles, do try to attend. Thank you, and know that I’m always available to you in a time of need.

How the 2020 Census will invite everyone to respond What to Expect in the Mail (Beginning March 2020) When it's time to respond, most households will receive a letter asking you to go online to complete the census questionnaire. Areas that are less likely to respond online will receive a paper questionnaire along with their invitation. The invitation will also include information about how to respond online or by phone. Every household will have the option of responding online, by mail, or by phone.
