THE POWER AND THE GLORY Praying the Psalms and Sanctifying the Day A Weekend For Christian Women November 15-17, 2013

“Prayer is the one thing that can conquer God,” according to 3rd century Father of the Church, Tertullian. Paul tells us to “pray without ceasing” I Thessalonians 5:17 Saint reminds us that “Wherever you may be, you can pray anywhere.” The Weekend invites us to look at prayer in a deeper and more powerful way. In particular we will reflect on the Psalms which Jesus Himself prayed. We will look at the Divine Ofce as a means of prayer without ceasing. Participants are invited to deepen their prayer life as well as their understanding of the Psalms which are the ‘Prayer Book of the Church.’ Jesus, Himself, prayed the Psalms. Time is provided for silence, prayer, and sharing. Women on the weekend will also encounter God’s in song and .

A team of Lay Women will assist the Spiritual Directors on the Weekend. They will lead table sharing, share echoes to the talks, and provide Music Ministry.

The Weekend is a Christian Weekend open to all Christian Women. The cost of the Weekend is $95.00. (A $25.00 non-refundable processing fee is requested with registration.)
