WHEREAS the forest industry is one of our main economic engines in Ontario and the Provincial Government is committed to fostering a leading edge forest industry that is globally recognized for its productivity and environmental stewardship
AND WHEREAS Building a Wood Culture in Ontario has the potential to be a catalyst for stimulating the industry innovation creating new markets for high value wood products and showcasing environmental advantages of wood as a construction material
AND WHEREAS the economy of Ontarios forest dependent communities would benefit from diversification and investment in a new generation of knowledgebased valueadded wood products
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Timmins does hereby reaffirm its commitment use a to Resolution 00268 Building with a Wood Option which encourages municipal construction to wood option a key component of building a Wood Culture in Ontario
