Seeding/Tournament Entry 1. This is an open tournament in which any MIAA school can opt-in. The opt-in deadline is June 2, 2021. 2. All teams will be seeded by winning percentage. 3. COVID-19 Tennis Modifications 4. MIAA COVID Task Force Information 5. The following tie breaking procedure shall be used: a. Head to Head Competition b. Winning Percentage against Common Opponent c. League Champion d. Coin Flip In a tie breaker for tournament seeding, every game played including exclusion games, but excluding endowment games are counted. Note: If a tie involves multiple teams (more than 2) and a team is eliminated, the procedure starts over at step one with the remaining teams. B. Pairing Announcements/Scheduling 1. Pairings and tournament information will be available on the MIAA website, www.miaa.net, throughout the tournament. 2. The number of and equity in “rest” days is not a tournament scheduling criteria. C. Site Determination and Tournament Sites 1. All matches throughout the tournament will be hosted by the higher seeded team, providing the site meets suitable quality standards. The tie-breaking procedure above, will be used to determine the host, if in the state tournament, teams seeded the same will be playing each other. If the higher seed cannot host, the TMC Site Determination Policy will be used: • Home school AD finds an acceptable site • Lower seed will host the match • If both sites are not acceptable, the Tournament Director will place the match at an acceptable site within MIAA site policy guidelines.
