[;!@[;l[3,5'jj' NtTIONA Newnes Plateau These /ookours can be accessed from rhe Old ar rhe Railway Clarence and/or from Lirhgow via the State Mine Gully Road PARK Bald Trig (Lithgow 434,958) Newnes Plateau Shrub Swamp (Lithgow 423,033} Mount Park at the turn off on the Old Bells Line of Road and walk about 1km along the Park at the side of the road next to the shrub swamp on Carne Creek. Spectacular views over the Wollangambe and Bungleboori Walk along lhe edge to see many rare plants including Boronia deanei, 1189 ~ wilderness to Mt Coricudgy (north) and Mt Yengo (east). Bungleboori South lookout (Wollangambe 453,980) Carne Creek lookout (Cullen Bullen 428,069) Park near the mine vent and walk along the road on the ridge to the northeasl, Park at grid reference shown above and you can walk a short distance down , C, to the end of the road (approx.1km). Scramble onto rocky pagodas , (taking care the track for magnificent views over Carne Creek, or for a longer walk park at e,ell not to damage formations) for a panorama of spectacular rocky country. the start of Fire Trail No.1. next to Bungleboori Creek. Fire Trail No. 3 lookout (Cullen Bullen 423,092} The Lost City (Lithgow 371, 990) Walk or partly drive along the fire trail to the lookout at (423, 092). Park at the rock barrier for views over the Lost City and surrounding thick heath . Great views of cliffs along Carne Creek. Walk a couple of hundred metres down to the pagodas at the end of the road.

Birds Rock (Cullen Bullen 387, 088) Park at the side of the road close to_the trig, and w_alk onto the rock formatio~ for wonderful views into the Wollem1 Wilderness with Mt Coricudgy to the north. Westt!rn Escarpment For more details of visiting the Western Escarpment there are maps and bushtvalking guides available from National Parks offices, book shops , Blue Mountains City Council or online at www.nationalparks.nsw.gov.au and www.bmcc.nsw .gov.au.

Mugii Mu rum-ban State Conservation Area (Airly/Genowlan), declared March 2011 The oil shale ruins can be accessed by driving along the Airly Gap Road. You can then walk along the old road through the ruins and on to Saddle Lookout for those more adventurous. Contact a National Parks office for more details.
