This market is not studied as often as the residential, office or commercial real estate market segments, which is why it is worth paying more attention to it. The evolution of the approach to sport, followed by the investing and use of sports real estate as a valuable resource of high value, means that increasing attention is being paid to the sports real estate market. The research objective of the article is to analyse and identify key areas of sports facility management, which the success of events organized on such facilities depends on, as well as to examine the requirements for sports facilities. The research used a lot of source information on the scope and standards of sports facility management as well as good practices and recommendations in this area. The following research methods were used in the article: a method of critical analysis of the subject literature on both the real estate market andthe sports market, as well as a descriptive and comparative methods to identify the evolution of the main directions of sports property management in the real estate market.

  • Jonathan C. Got Berlin Perspectives on Architecture 1 Olympiastadion
Jonathan C. Got Berlin Perspectives on Architecture Olympiastadion – Germania and Beyond My personal interest with the Olymiastadion began the first week I arrived in Berlin. Having only heard about Adolf Hitler’s plans for a European Capital from documentaries and seen pictures of Jesse Owen’s legendary victories in the ill-timed 1936 Summer Olympics, I decided to make a visit myself. As soon as I saw the heavy stone colonnade from the car park I knew it could only have been built for one purpose – propaganda for the Third Reich beyond Germania. Remodelled for the 1936 Summer Olympics in Berlin by Hitler’s favorite architects Werner March (whose father, Otto March, designed the original 1913 stadium) and Albert Speer, the Olympiastadion was a symbol of power for the National Socialist party and an opportunity to present propaganda in the form of architecture. Being the westernmost structure on Hitler’s ‘capital city of the world’, the stadium was designed to present the then National Socialist Germany to the rest of the world as a power to be reckoned with. Any visitor to the stadium doesn’t only see the gigantic stadium, but also experiences the whole Olympic complex. Visitors would arrive at a 10-platform S-Bahn station able to serve at high frequencies for large events and then walk several hundred meters with a clear view of the huge imposing stone stadium as soon as visitors reached the car park. Though some might argue that neither the U- nor S-Bahn stations named after the stadium provided convenient access to the sports grounds, one has to consider the scale of the event.

FIFA Rules how the World Cup is Changing Football Culture in brazil By Bernardo Buarque de Hollanda and Jimmy Medeiros razil is known around the world as a footballing nation. The Brazilian style of play is universally characterized, to the point of stereotyping, as virtuous, Bcreative, simply amazing. Even Brazilians who have no interest in football whatsoever are compelled to talk about the sport when they go to social gatherings, travel abroad, or host foreign visitors. International broadcasts of tournaments such as the World Cup, organized by the Swiss-based Fédération Internationale de Football Association, or FIFA, have helped globalize the sport; in turn, given Brazil’s prowess in the game—it has won five FIFA World Cup trophies—this has made Brazilians and their country well known among the community of nations. Football’s worldwide scale and influence has thus contributed to the rise of Brazil’s international stature. In 1958, when Brazil won its first world title in Sweden, televi- sion only partially covered the games. But by 1970, when Brazil won its third title in Mexico, international broadcasts were fully established. Since then, the FIFA tour- nament has progressively expanded, and today, is avidly watched by enthusiasts on five continents. Sports tourism now sends thousands of fans descending on the host country and hundreds of millions more tuning into live broadcasts. It is certainly no longer a pastime primarily followed in Europe and South America. Up until 1978, only sixteen national teams participated in the finals of the World Cup; by 1982, the number had grown to twenty-four countries; and, since 1998, the finals have been expanded to include thirty-two teams.

  • Brazilian World Cup Stadiums: a Predictable Legacy Challenge
Brazilian World Cup stadiums: A predictable legacy challenge The legacy of the 12 new or refurbished stadiums for the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil will all fall below international average if nothing is done to strengthen the plans for their after-use. This is the result of projections made by the Danish Institute for Sports Studies and Play the Game, where available information from Brazil is compared with the World Stadium Index 2011. Prologue In August 2000 the FIFA Executive Committee agreed on the principle of FIFA World Cup rotation. The rotation agreement and the decision in 2001 to begin the rotation in Africa was seen as a settlement to guarantee Africa to host the 2010 FIFA World Cup, after South Africa in July 2000 lost out to Germany in bidding to host the tournament 2006 against Germany. Three years later, in 2003, it was decided that South America should host the 2014 tournament and, as Colombia withdrew their candidacy in 2007, there was only one candidate country left: Brazil. Stadiums and infrastructure investments In 2007 FIFA reported that the Brazilian Football Federation (CBF) estimated the investments related to construction and/or remodelling of stadiums at USD 1.1 billion (ibid.) and according to the former Brazilian Minister of Sports, Orlando Silva Jr., the total investment in infrastructure projects (stadiums, roads, airports, subways, etc.) would be USD 18.7 billion, with nearly 78 per cent of the investments coming from the public sector. 18 potential host cities were presented in the Brazilian bid and 12 of them were chosen as host cities in May 2012.

  • Namnbyte Till Olympiastadion Motion (2009:26) Av Stefan Nilsson (MP)
Jubile- umsfirandet 2012
