An overview of Sentosa 09/10 annual report Think beyond! Joint Message [Left] Dr Loo Choon Yong Chairman Sentosa Development Corporation executive Chairman raffles Medical Group ltd [Right] Mike Barclay Chief executive officer Sentosa Development Corporation the 2009/10 Financial Year proved to be a period of significant transformation for sentosa. the opening of the much- anticipated Resorts World sentosa was a key milestone in the island resort’s evolution into a family entertainment destination, and looks set to more than double visitorship to the island in the course of its first year of operations. sentosa Development Corporation expended a tremendous amount of time and effort over the last year on infrastructure upgrading to prepare for this step-change in guest arrival numbers. adding to the excitement were the opening of new attractions along siloso Beach and the growth of the sentosa Cove community to almost 2,500 residents. these noteworthy achievements were made possible by years of diligent master planning by successive generations of board directors and management. against the backdrop of a global economic downturn, Sentosa Development Corporation performed strongly at an operating level. this solid accomplishment can be attributed to the 7.83 million Sentosa visitors which exceeded the island’s previous record by 28 per cent. 01 | SentoSa annual report 09/10 09/10 annual report the move to place more focus on promoting the island as a preferred leisure and ‘staycation’ destination for Singaporeans garnered strong support from the local market, which more than compensated for the slow-down in international tourist arrivals to Singapore.

Magical Sentosa Begin your day with a magical Segway® ride around Sentosa. Journey to the heart of the island where the majestic and mythical Merlion lives. Travel back in time at Fort Siloso, an 1880s coastal fort and the only one left on the island. Or simply soak in the enchanting sights as you glide along Sentosa's beautiful beaches. Butterfly Park & Insect Kingdom. In the afternoon, head into the rainforest, where the enchanting Butterfly Park & Insect Kingdom lies. Magical Sentosa (also known as Sentosa Magique (in French) or ????? (in Chinese)) is one of the most popular performances ever staged on the former Sentosa Musical Fountain. This child-oriented show ran for five years before being shut down in 2007, and is the only show to be staged with a revival plot. Magical Sentosa was a multimedia nighttime show hosted at the Sentosa Musical Fountain on the resort island of Sentosa, Singapore. The multimedia show is the last musical to be staged on the fountain itself. The musical ran for less than five years before being eventually discontinued in 2007 and replaced by Songs of the Sea. The show was conceived using ideas from an earlier ECA2 production in France, titled "Le Lac Aux Images", using some of the characters and plot elements of the previous show. The Songs and Tunes from The Original Soundtrack of Magical Sentosa (often shortened to Magical Sentosa: The Original Soundtrack or Magical Sentosa soundtrack) is a remix album of the multimedia ECA2 show, "Le Lac Aux Images"; though it actually serves as the main soundtrack to other ECA2 production, "Magical Sentosa".

MEDIA RELEASE Sentosa celebrates its BIG 4-0 birthday and everyone is invited • Free island admission* for all on 1 September • Five play zones for a full day of celebration Singapore, 17 August 2012 – Sentosa is marking its big 4-0 with a birthday bash on Saturday 1 September, and everyone’s invited to the Open Day celebrations! The island will be decked out with party decorations and there will be birthday treats for all island guests. Complimentary island admission will be extended to all guests who enter Sentosa via the Sentosa Boardwalk or the Sentosa Express to enjoy the activities on Open Day. In addition, Singapore residents who were born in 1972 and turn 40 years old in 2012 alongside Sentosa, can visit Sentosa for free* in August and September. “We are immensely proud that more than 150 million guests have visited Sentosa over the past 4 decades, and that more than half of them have been Singapore residents”, said Mike Barclay, CEO of Sentosa Development Corporation. “We want to thank our local fans by encouraging them to take advantage of our Open Day on 1 September. So bring along your friends and family and take part in our 40th anniversary celebrations!” The celebration will span five play zones on the island, where guests can enjoy a variety of activities and promotions. Over at VivoCity, at the Sentosa Express monorail station, a colourful exhibition tracing Sentosa’s forty-year development will open to the public for the entire month of September and admission is free. The exhibition will extend to six regional libraries in a roving installation depicting the public’s favourite memories of Sentosa.
