Tim Dubois On Board At Gaylord Entertainment - NYSE:GET - as President of Creative Content Group

May 31, 2000 , Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 31, 2000--Gaylord Entertainment Company (NYSE:GET), which announced plans last December to name music industry executive Tim DuBois as president of its creative content group, announced today that DuBois has officially joined the company after completing contractual commitments to his previous employer.

DuBois came to Gaylord Entertainment from Arista/Nashville, where he was president. He helped establish the label in 1989 and served as vice president and general manager until 1993, when he became president. At Arista, he assembled an impressive roster of gold- and platinum-selling acts, including , Brooks & Dunn, , , Blackhawk, and the Tractors.

DuBois' selection was acknowledged last December when Gaylord Entertainment announced it was organizing its businesses into three groups-- hospitality and attractions, creative content and interactive media--and naming a president for each group.

He brings a great understanding of every aspect of the entertainment business as well as a tremendous creative talent and the ability to build teams and to produce winners," London said.

DuBois' creative content group includes businesses such as Acuff-Rose Music Publishing, Word Entertainment, GET Management, Gaylord Sports Management, Gaylord Event Television, Gaylord Family Films and the Group. The company has announced plans to launch a label that will be part of the creative content group.

In 1977, DuBois moved to Nashville to pursue a career as a songwriter while teaching accounting at Vanderbilt University and other area universities. He has five No. 1 songs to his credit as a songwriter and more than 30 other country singles. In 1991, DuBois received the Song of the Year award from the Country Music Association for "When I Call Your Name," co-written with .

DuBois entered personal management in 1985. He took on as his first client and later became a partner with Los Angeles-based artist management company Fitzgerald-Hartley, opening a Nashville office. The firm's artist roster included Vince Gill and Foster & Lloyd.

At Arista, DuBois produced for Exile, Diamond Rio, and Blackhawk. He also was instrumental in the careers of Alan Jackson, Brooks & Dunn, , Pam Tillis and the Tractors. Arista/Nashville sold more than 60 million albums in its first 10 years and during that time produced 28 gold, 19 platinum and 12 multi-platinum discs.

DuBois' creation of Restless Heart demonstrated his talent for finding individual performers and blending them into an artistically distinctive and commercially appealing act. He repeated that success later with the melding of Brooks & Dunn and Blackhawk.

DuBois is a past president of the Country Music Association. He currently is on the CMA board and the boards of the and the Country Music Foundation. He is a past board member of the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences, the Nashville Songwriters Association International, the Nashville Songwriters Foundation and the Nashville Entertainment Association.

A native of Oklahoma, he holds both B.S. and M.S. degrees in accounting from Oklahoma State University.
