Attachment 9: Employment and Labour Market Advisory Working GroupEX11.1 Terms of 2 Reference Preamble Ontario Gaming GTA LP (OGGLP or "the Partnership") is committed to ensuring the Woodbine renewal is a force for positive change in the GTA – particularly for nearby neighbourhoods and for residents who are at a social or economic disadvantage. To this end, the Partnership has designed a 20-year Employment and Labour Market Plan that will align with the City’s ongoing work and exceed the Partnership’s already-strong practices across Canada to create thousands of high-quality jobs, establish valuable skills training programs, and facilitate equitable access to the unique opportunity afforded by redevelopment. Based on extensive discussions with City Staff and other stakeholders, the core of the Partnership’s Employment and Labour Market Plan is a collaborative approach to strengthening the employment pathway for local residents and equity-seeking groups. The Partnership’s core strength as a private sector job creator is hiring, training, and upskilling team members, with redevelopment and enhanced operations leading to increased labour market demand. Meanwhile, a strong cluster of City and social sector organizations are primarily focused on identifying, strengthening, and supporting a pool of candidates, with a focus on local residents, youth, and disadvantaged groups. When each player in this employment ecosystem is helping to build and strengthen program alignment, this plan will help to ensure that supply and demand connect. Through the Employment and Labour Market Advisory Working Group, OGGLP will work with the City of Toronto and key stakeholders in order to monitor inputs and outcomes and receive feedback that will allow its plans to be measured and strengthened. -

Chapter 8 Central Business District Downtown Capital District Master Plan Trenton, New Jersey CHAPTER 8: Central Business District Central Business District The Central Business District of Downtown Trenton located along State, Broad and Warren Streets will be reinvigorated as a new employment center, shopping and entertainment destination, and residential community of choice. Description Trenton’s historic Central Business District is located along East State, North Broad and North Warren Streets. This district is generally bounded by the Assunpink Creek and Front Street on the south, the intersection of Central Business Clinton and State Street on the east, the Battle Monument on the north, District and Warren and Willow Streets on the west. This district is fortunate in that a large number of its original buildings are intact. In some cases though, entire blocks have been demolished and redeveloped with large office complexes that are used primarily by state government. The South Warren Street Historic District is located in this district, adjacent to the Trenton Marriot Lafayette Yard hotel. Parking structures are distributed throughout this district and there is limited on-street parking. IE14.12 ~TORONTO REPORT FOR ACTION Updates on Improvements to the Bike Lanes on Dundas Street East Date: June 24, 2020 To: Infrastructure and Environment Committee From: General Manager, Transportation Services Wards: Wards 13 and 14 SUMMARY On May 28, 2020, City Council adopted CC21.20 Cycling Network Plan Installations: Bloor West Bikeway Extension & ActiveTO Projects and requested Transportation Services to report to the July 9, 2020 meeting of the Infrastructure and Environment Committee on the status of previous requests to improve the bike lanes on Dundas Street East. The purpose of this report is to provide an update on these requests. Bicycle lanes on Dundas Street East have long provided a vital east/west cycling connection. In the 2001 Toronto Bike Plan, Dundas Street East was identified as a candidate for bicycle lanes from River Street to Kingston Road and in 2003, bicycle lanes were installed on the section of Dundas Street East from Broadview Avenue to Kingston Road. The Dundas Street East bicycle lanes are connected to the protected bicycle lanes on Woodbine Avenue via contra-flow bicycle lanes on Dixon Avenue. Transportation Services has installed a number of safety improvements along Dundas Street East including pavement marking enhancements along the corridor and intersection improvements at Dundas Street East and Jones Avenue. In June 2020, as part of the ActiveTO program, temporary protected bicycle lanes (cycle tracks) were installed to extend the Dundas Street East bicycle lanes by 1 kilometre (km) from their end point just east of Broadview, west to Sackville Street to provide a safe connection through the Broadview intersection and over the Don Valley Parkway bridge. -

Wychwood Park Wychwood Park Sits on a Height of Land That Was Once the Lake Iroquois Shore
Wychwood Park Wychwood Park sits on a height of land that was once the Lake Iroquois shore. The source for Taddle Creek lies to the north and provides the water for the pond found in the centre of the Park. Today, Taddle Creek continues under Davenport Road at the base of the escarpment and flows like an underground snake towards the Gooderham and Worts site and into Lake Ontario. Access to this little known natural area of Toronto is by two entrances one at the south, where a gate prevents though traffic, and the other entrance at the north end, off Tyrell Avenue, which provides the regular vehicular entrance and exit. A pedestrian entrance is found between 77 and 81 Alcina Avenue. Wychwood Park was founded by Marmaduke Matthews and Alexander Jardine in the third quarter of the 19th century. In 1874, Matthews, a land- scape painter, built the first house in the Park (6 Wychwood Park) which he named “Wychwood,” after Wychwood Forest near his home in England. The second home in Wychwood Park, “Braemore,” was built by Jardine a few years later (No. 22). When the Park was formally established in 1891, the deed provided building standards and restrictions on use. For instance, no commercial activities were permitted, there were to be no row houses, and houses must cost not less than $3,000. By 1905, other artists were moving to the Park. Among the early occupants were the artist George A. Reid (Uplands Cottage at No. 81) and the architect Eden Smith (No. 5). Smith designed both 5 and 81, as well as a number of others, all in variations of the Arts and Crafts style promoted by C.F.A. -

ACIDIC PRECIPITATION AT A SITE WITHIN THE NORTHEASTERN CONURBATION JAY S. JACOBSON, LAURENCE I. HELLER, AND PAUL VAN LEUKEN, Boyce Thompson Institute for Plant Research, Yonkers, New York 10701, U.S.A. ABSTRACT Rain and snow were collected in plastic beakers either manually or with a Wong sampler during 58 precipitation events in 1974 at Yonkers, New York approximately 24 km north of the center of New York City. Determinations were made of total dissolved ionic species, free hydrogen ions, total hydrogen ions, sulfate, nitrate, chloride, and fluoride. Conductivity measurements ranged from 618 to 162 umhos, pH from 3.4 to 4.9, total acidity from 36 to 557 ueq/l sulfate from less than 1 to 20 mg/l, nitrate from less than 1 to 14 mg/l, and chloride from less than 1 to 7 mg/l. All fluoride concentrations were less than 0.1 mg/l. The results indicate that precipitation at this suburban location adjacent to New York City is consistently acidic and contains concentrations of sulfate, nitrate, and chloride which are similar to values found for other locations in the north- eastern United States. Positive correlations were found between nitrate and sulfate concentrations and acidity suggesting that the atmospheric contaminants, sulfur and nitrogen dioxide, are causally-related to the occurrence of acidic precipitation. Further research will be necessary to clarify the relative influence of natural and man-made sources of nitrogen and sulfur compounds and the contributions of gaseous and particulate contaminants in the atmosphere to the acidity of precipitation at this location. INTRODUCTION Acidic precipitation is a well-known phenomenon in northern Europe and some of its actual and potential environmental effects have been described (Sweden, 1971) but explanations for its occurrence still are debated. -
