For teachers in grades K-12: District expectations for the use of Canvas in the third quarter of the school year are to continue posting weekly lesson plans/newsletters in Calendar. In grades K-6, the district expectation is to create at least 2 school work assignments, and/or have 1 discussion in your course. In grades 7-12, the district expectation is to create 4 or more assignments and have discussions in courses. At all grade levels, the expectation is to place student resources, such as web links, YouTube clips, documents, etc., into Canvas Pages or Modules. If you have questions, please contact any Tech Coach. 2. For all Primary Teachers: Have you heard of the app Catchy Words AR? Catchy Words is a simple educational Augmented Reality word game. In this game, the player needs to catch floating letters and arrange them in the frame so they make out a word in English, they are scrambled by default. Of course, every set of letters can construct a word, but you need to solve which word is it. This educational game combines movement by being able to collect a letter using the device. Thanks to Holly Talboom at Southwick Elementary for this recommendation! 3. For all teachers: Are you familiar with the IN Computer Science Standards? Code.org® is a nonprofit dedicated to expanding access to computer science in schools and increasing participation by women and underrepresented minorities. Their vision is that every student in every school has the opportunity to learn computer science, just like biology, chemistry or algebra. Code.org provides the leading curriculum for K-12 computer science in the largest school districts in the United States and Code.org also organizes the annual Hour of Code campaign which has engaged 15% of all students in the world. 4. For all teachers: Doodle for Google contest has launched Calling all K-12 artists! The Doodle for Google contest kicked off January 8th and will close on March 18th. This year's theme is "When I grow up, I hope..." Visit doodle4google.com for lesson plans and details on how to enter. A third-grader at Prince Chapman Academy, Athena Rodriguez, was Indiana’s Doodle for Google winner in 2018. 5. For Elementary Teachers: Have you signed up for a Mystery Science Membership? Mystery Science is a curriculum of open-and-go science lessons for kindergarten through fifth grade. It offers minimal prep, engaging videos, hands-on activities, and aligns with the standards. The first year is free for teachers, but will require a paid membership upon renewal. Fun technology fact: Have you ever felt uncomfortable - a little jittery, perhaps - because you forgot your smartphone? Is your smartphone within reach right now? Ninety-one percent of all adults have their mobile phone within arm’s reach every hour of every day, and 75% of Americans bring their phones to the bathroom. Fifty-three percent of American consumers use their smartphones to access search engines at least once a day, and four out of five consumers use smartphones to shop. • Activity Pack 1: Imagine
Activity Pack 1: Imagine Activity for Grades 6-8 Thomas Edison once said, “To have a great idea is to have a lot of them.” Brainstorming is a key part of this stage in the creative process. In fact, brainstorming remains one of the most effective creative thinking techniques in use today. The primary cornerstone to brainstorming is the absence of judgment or criticism. All ideas, no matter how non-traditional, have the right to exist at this stage. This is particularly valuable for those students who lack the confidence to publicly share their ideas. A comfortable, collaborative environment can help to inspire students during the “imagine” phase. Invite students to sit on beanbag chairs instead of at desks, in groups instead of by themselves, outdoors rather than inside the school, or listening to music instead of working in silence. This year’s Doodle 4 Google competition theme is: If I could invent one thing to make the world a better place. We can think of no greater purpose for students to show their creativity than to make the world better for others. It all starts with a little imagination! Graffiti Inspiration In this activity, students come up with 101 ideas for improving their schools and use their imaginations and the graffiti carousel brainstorming technique to generate creative ideas for how to make the world a better place. Strategy: This activity uses graffiti carousel brainstorming, a technique used to help generate creative ideas while stimulating physical movement. Large sheets of butcher paper are hung on walls, each with a different prompt or question.

youtube premium app download redit YouTube Premium Review: I Finally Caved – Is It Worth It? YouTube is one of the most popular apps and websites on the web. Around 2 billion people access YouTube every month . On top of that, around 73% of US adults use YouTube on a daily basis . YouTube is a big deal basically. And its main revenue is adverts – lots and lots of adverts. If you want to make adverts disappear on YouTube, you have to sign up for YouTube Premium. It costs £11.99 a month (though you do get a free 30-day trial) and this also gets you access to YouTube Music as well (you can also move all your music from Google Play Music over to YouTube Music too). I signed up for YouTube Premium a few weeks back to see if it was for me. I had grown tired of interacting with Google’s never-ending pop-up spam on the app which seemed to appear every single time I opened the app. Google broke me. I caved and signed up. What’s ironic about all this, however, is the Google actively penalizes websites that use similar marketing tactics online. They call it spamming. Apparently it’s OK when Google does it though. If you use YouTube regularly, you’ll know exactly what I’m talking about. You get pop-ups like the ones listed below pretty much every time you open the app… SIGN-UP TO YouTube Premium! Hey, try YouTube Premium for free Do you want YouTube Premium? YouTube Premium is ad-free Get YouTube Premium now.
