    CONDEMNATION OF COMMUNISM IN PONTIFICAL MAGISTERIUM since Pius IX till Paul VI Petru CIOBANU Abstract: The present article, based on several magisterial documents, illus- trates the approach of Roman Pontiffs, beginning with Pius IX and ending with Paul VI, with regard to what used to be called „red plague”, i.e. communism. The article analyses one by one various encyclical letters, apostolic letters, speeches and radio messages in which Roman Pontiffs condemned socialist theories, either explicitly or implicitly. Francis Lerow, Bishop Ordinary Missions and Decisions, Planning and Money For many of our parishes, renewal tends to be an ongoing affair. We think very hard about our home parish. All of us want our church to have impact on the community and our community to have greater access to worship and the Traditional Anglican way. We depend on our vestries to drive the wagon that ensures that proper planning and resources are available to support the annual plan established at the Annual Parish Meetings. The problem with planning is that it quickly can lose the interest of the members of the parish. It is easy to fall back into our old ways, thinking that the Sunday Worship Service is all we need to bring them to Christ and eventually membership in the Church. Or if we have a young electrifying priest that will lead the way all will be well. It would be nice if it was that easy. But, we all know it is not. So what does it take? What kind of investment of time and resources does it take to really make things happen? What will cause the kind of renewal for which we all hope and pray? The business metric used to determine the effort and cost to sell a particular item of merchandise, as a rule of thumb, is to measure how many times their product gets the attention of a potential buyer.

From January 8th through February 25th, 2014, the Extraordinary General Chapter of the Legion of Christ took place in Rome. His Eminence, Cardinal Velasio De Paolis, CS, and his two counselors, Fr. Gianfranco Ghirlanda, SJ, and Fr. Agostino Montan, CSI, presided. Sixty- one chapter fathers participated, 19 ex officio and 42 elected by the nine territories of the congregation and the centers of Rome. 2. This Extraordinary General Chapter marks the end of the journey of in-depth revision that the congregation has travelled since the apostolic visitation, which took place during 2009- 2010, and the naming of a Pontifical Delegate in the summer of 2010. Our principal tasks in the Chapter, as Pope Benedict XVI1 indicated and as Pope Francis confirmed2, were to revise the Constitutions and to elect a new central government for the congregation. 3. In the first days, in light of the reports that the Pontifical Delegate and the pro-General Director submitted, we focused on analyzing the life of the Congregation since the ordinary General Chapter that took place in 2005.
