Využití pr ůtokové cytometrie p ři studiu cytologické variability prokázalo polyploidii a malou velikost genomu u tohoto rodu a stávající výsledky dávají relevantní základ pro budoucí podrobné studie. Actual State and Changes of Flora and Vegetation in the Broczăłwka Steppe Reserve

The floristic research was carried out in 2004-2009. Numerous species that were noted here almost 30 years ago were not found in the present study, the size of other populations decreased. Nevertheless, many plant species occurring in the reserve are rare, endangered or protected. Six major plant associations, impoverished form of two ones and one plant community are distinguished in the whole area of the reserve. Occurrence of two plant associations was not confirmed. Key words: steppe reserve, rare and endangered species, succession 1. INTRODUCTION Almost all sites of xerothermic vegetation in middle-east Poland were investigated in respect of flora and plant associations and communities. The researches were conducted in 1960s (e.g. FIJAŁKOWSKI 1959, 1964, 1972; FIJAŁKOWSKI , IZDEBSKI 1957; FIJAŁKOWSKI , ADAMCZYK 1980; FIJAŁKOWSKI et al . 1987). Conducted comparative researches show, that both flora and plant communities have been changed to a great extent. Preliminary information on this theme was published by FIJAŁKOWSKI et al. (1987) and KUCHARCZYK and WÓJCIAK (1995). AGENCY CONTACT Plant Epidemiology and Risk Analysis Laboratory Science and Technology Plant Protection and Quarantine Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service United States Department of Agriculture 1730 Varsity Drive, Suite 300 Raleigh, NC 2760 Weed Risk Assessment for Thesium ramosum (thesium) Executive Summary The result of the weed risk assessment for Thesium ramosum is High Risk of becoming weedy or invasive in the United States. Thesium ramosum is a parasitic herb that is found in a variety of open habitats, including natural, agricultural, and anthropogenic systems. In the United States, it is naturalized in ten counties across Idaho, Montana, and North Dakota. In Canada, it was first reported in Fish Creek Provincial Park near Calgary in 2001, and has since spread to many other sites in the park and other areas along the Bow River. All Thesium spp. are regulated by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) because they are parasitic plants. Thesium ramosum has spread outside its native range to other parts of Europe and to North America, likely as a contaminant of grain or hay. This species has been recorded on about a dozen hosts from several plant families, and on grasses and trees, Because it is a generalist parasite, it has the potential to impact a wide range of hosts and is primarily a concern in natural areas. -

Accepted 5 August, 2013 A wide area of Iran is covered by arid and semiarid regions. In this survey, flora of an area of the Miandasht Wildlife Refuge, out of the safe part, was studied. This region covers 84435 Ha, situated in the west of Khorassan province in Iran. The climate of the area according to de Martone system is semiarid. The mean annual precipitation is 275 mm and the altitude varies from 931 to 1021 m above sea level. Plants were collected from 2008 to 2011. A total of 256 taxa belonging to 152 genera and 35 families from Angiospermae and Gymnospermae were found. Asteraceae, Chenopodiaceae, Brassicaceae and Fabaceae were the greatest families, respectively. Geraniaceae, Ixioliriaceae, Orobanchaceae, Plantaginaceae, Primulaceae, Resedaceae and Rosaceae, each included one species. Based on Raunkiaer life form classification system, majority of the species (55.86%) were therophytes. Other life forms in descending order were hemicryptophytes (15.62%), chamaephytes (10.16%), phanerophytes (8.6%) and geophytes (9.38%). Chorologicaly, most of the species were Irano-Turanian. Flora of Miandasht Wildlife Refuge include 20 low risk species and 29 (11.6%) endemic of Iran species. -
