BACKGROUND: The Foundation "Prima del Dopo Capodarco Onlus¿ (¿Before the After Foundation¿) was born in 2004 on the base of more than forty years experience of ¿Capodarco Community¿ for disabled people. The aim of "Prima del Dopo" is to support and provide tools for families in which disabled people live. Without a process of self awareness they would run the risk of being unprepared when their parents would no longer be able to look after them. It is 3rd year already that the "Prima del Dopo Foundation" works for the autonomy of disabled people thanks to the adult foster home called "Milly e Memmo" in Grottaferrata (near Rome), where they experience an autonomy process and a form of community life. Currently the group involved of the project counts 15-18 people, aged between 20 and 50 years old with learning disabilities and in some cases of physical disabilities. In the foster they do everyday small works, sports, handicrafts and gradually get the chance to experience autonomy from their families. And there are already positive results of this work: a group of 5-6 people with the support of social workers of the Foundation live permanently in a community apartment of ¿Milly e Memmo¿ after completing their course of autonomy. Near the foster house there are some social cooperatives that works for the integration of disabled people, a farm, a restaurant where they work with disabilities, other family houses, a Professional Training Centre, a nursery, a shop of organic food and fair-trade commerce.

WORK: Volunteers will support the staff for the everyday activities of the group of disabled people, they would encourage self expression, communication and interpersonal relationships through activities such as singing, music, drawing and painting, diary, beauty salon, recycling paper, day-excursion and home cleaning. Volunteers will also do some renovation work in the residence and take care of the green area surrounding the house and some renovation works. Please, note that most of disabled guests will come for daily activities but some others will stay in the residence all the time.

ACCOMMODATION: Volunteers will live in the community home (separately from the customers of the foster). All hygienic services are provided. The volunteers will cook and clean as a group. Sleeping bags are required.

BACKGROUND: The association "Il Cammino di San Tommaso¿ (The Path of St Thomas) aims to create a trekking route that connects Rome and Ortona promoting the concepts of "experimental tourism", "slow-tourism" and "active travelling". Instead of being simple tourists participants become travellers and make new experiences through activities, events, and workshops with network of local associations. ¿The Path of St Thomas¿ was established recently, in February 2013, but has already worked out numerous collaborations with institutions and organizations that fund activities through national and/or regional support of the development of tourism. This event was already done last summer (26th May ¿ 9th June) when 20 trekkers and 3 international volunteers walked from Ortona to Roma in 15 days during the main project ¿Da Tommaso a Pietro, In Cammino¿ that moved also 20 knights, 50 cyclists and 300 pilgrims on the same route and days. Obviously with different departures from Ortona. All the participants arrived together in St. Peter Square in Rome where they assisted to the traditional catholic celebration ¿Angelus¿, during which, they received a particular greeting by Pope Francis.

WORK: Volunteers will take part in the walking of 330 km "from St Peter to St Thomas" from 20th of July 2013 to 3th of August 2013; they will hike from St Peter Square in Rome, where they will assist to the traditional catholic celebration of the "Angelus" and bless by Pope Francis, to Ortona where there 'll make a big event to celebrate, with all the other different travellers, the end of the journey. The volunteers will be part of the group of Italian hikers who move from Rome to Ortona on July 20th and will do the path with other participants, helping to manage some little manual work during the route and updating profiles of the event on social networks: twitter and facebook in their mother tongue.

ACCOMMODATION: Being participants of the walk, the volunteers will have the same conditions with other hikers: accommodation during the trekking could be in a hostel, B&B, hotel or camping (to be confirmed few weeks before the event). The same is for food: the organization will provide three meals a day (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) but sometimes it can be packed meal. In some cases due to specific issues of the program the volunteers could receive pocket-money for food.

BACKGROUND: The workcamp is organized in collaboration with no-profit association ¿Castello Manservisi¿ that manages the Manservisi Castle. The Manservisi Castle is a cultural, touristic and exhibition centre that organizes a full calendar of events, especially in summer: exhibitions of art and photography, concerts, theater performances, film festivals, presentation of books, meetings on scientific and naturalistic topics. Built in the end of 19th century on the ruins of 17th century castle, the Manservisi Castle is situated in the middle of Tuscan Emilian Apennines, between Bologna and Pistoia, in Castelluccio di Porretta Terme. Nowadays the complex is formed by several buildings, which are located in a large park near the Museum Laborantes, the largest ethnographic museum of the area. Since 2010, after the long period of abandon, the no-profit association Castello Manservisi is taking care of the castle and making some renovation and maintenance work. One part of the castle is now integrated with scattered hotel in Castelluccio, the aim is to make park and the structure available for visitors and guests. WORK: The main work will consist in cleaning and maintenance of the outdoor site of the castle and the park. Volunteers will be working 7-8 hours per day under the supervision of local technical leader. During the workcamp, on 26th of July there will be a traditional celebration of ¿Madonna del Faggio¿ so the volunteers will be also involved in setting up and taking off the stands, the tables and other structures for the feast. It will be a perfect opportunity to get to know the local community and discover the local cuisine as well! Be prepared for physical work.

ACCOMMODATION: The volunteers will be hosted in one of the buildings of the Manservisi Castle on the territory of the park. The accommodation has beds, 3 toilets and shower. Sleeping bag is required. The meals will be provided by the staff of the centre, the volunteers will clean the dining room and wash the dishes as a group. During the workcamp there will be several events and activities organized by local partner so the volunteers are asked to be respectful and polite with other guests of the park. Please, note that the castle is situated in a small village in suburb of Castelluccio di Porretta Terme which is quite isolated: there is no public transport after 7 p.m.

BACKGROUND: Since many years, the Social Centre ¿Magazzino 47¿ has been organizing a summer festival in Brescia. The Festival aims to finance RADIO ONDA D¿URTO, an independent, alternative radio which was established during the 70¿s, and since then provides social, political and cultural information out of the mainstream media. The aim of the workcamp is to support an independent voice and, through it, the freedom of speech.

WORK: Volunteers will help to put on and manage several food stands of the Festival and will clean the kitchen and other spaces. Volunteers will work for around 6/7 hours a day and will work in pairs or small groups at different times of the day depending on the work requirements. They will work in the afternoon till late in the evening and will have the opportunity to join the concerts, theatre performances, movies and DJ-sets.

ACCOMMODATION: Volunteers will be hosted in a local social centre, called ¿Magazzino 47¿, a self-managed place for youth where social, cultural, and political activities are organized. Sleeping bags, good-will and open-mindedness are required.

LOCATION: Brescia is in Lombardy, in the north of Italy.

TERMINAL: Brescia is the nearest train station, Milan is the nearest airport. (Please consider Milano-Orio al Serio Airport where several low cost flights options are available.)

BACKGROUND: In the 70s, a few friends moved into an abandoned village called Mogliazze, on the Apennine mountains. Today Ecovillage Mogliazze works on the promotion of organic-agriculture, environmental protection and conservation of the traditional buildings. Ecovillage Mogliazze is located in an ancient rural village (Mogliazze, Bobbio) that was built at the end of 19th Century. At the beginning of the 50's, following the economical development of Italian cities, all the inhabitants left in order to go to work in factories. During the 70's a group of people decided to create an ecological village and to live there sharing believes, activities, houses and meals. Mogliazze belongs to the Italian network of Ecovillages. It works on the promotion of bio-agriculture, environmental protection, and the protection of the traditional buildings of the area. In addition to these different activities they also organize seminars and meetings to promote bio-agriculture. All the inhabitants of the Borgo (Italian name for ancient and small villages) share meals and social moments.

WORK: Volunteers will do different kind of works: harvest and transform medicinal herbs and fruits, prepare gardens and harvest vegetables, prepare some products that we sell in Bio markets, take care of some animals (sheep, ducks, bees, cats and dogs) and sometimes there are some masonry work.

ACCOMMODATION: Volunteers will live in a traditional house in the village. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are provided according to Eco Village standards. Volunteers will support cooking and cleaning activities and will prepare some international meals. All hygienic services are provided. Sleeping bags are required. No hot water. Outdoor showers.

LOCATION: Mogliazze is a small village near Bobbio, at an altitude of 800 meters, on the mountains of the Apennine chain in the District of Piacenza, north of Italy

DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT

For the fifth year in a row IBO Italia is guest of the Ferrara Buskers Festival for the solidarity. After the 2012 edition, when IBO Italy collaborated to support some villages of Emilia Romagna deeply damaged by the earthquake of 20-29 may 2012; and 2013, when we supported volunteerism and youth mobility, also for 2014 strengths are united to collaborate for the youth volunteering.

That's how the project of a new workcamp has raised, with the aim to involve a group of volunteers to support this project.

The Ferrara Buskers Festival (www.ferrarabuskers.com), with its 800.000 spectators, is the biggest event in the world dedicated to the street art. It was founded in 1988 with the aim of enhancing the role of street artists and to get to know a city rich in history and charm ¿ objectives which have been fully accomplished.

For many spectators from all over Italy and, significantly, even from abroad, the Festival is an exciting tour around the world in search of familiar and exotic sounds; it¿s a passionate treasure hunt to discover the most original instruments, the most inspired performances and the most creative costumes. It is, above all, an endless mobile jamboree, that moves in a thousand directions, invading the streets and squares of one of the most beautiful city centers in Italy.

The protagonists of the Festival are the buskers themselves; travelling artists who, in their daily activities, try to give some good humour and poetry to passers-by.

Since the third edition, every year the festival is dedicated to a guest nation from which a large part of the 20 invited groups come from. In addiction to the invited ones, accredited groups participate at their own expenses and according to the selection they can perform even just for one day. Nobody receives a fee, just the offers that the public drops in their ¿hat¿. The shows follows a daily rotation, so the groups changes their ¿stage¿ every day.

Since 2011, the Festival organization is involved in the project Ecofestival, to reduce waste to the least and to fix elevated standard about the respect of the environment for events of wide range. Separate collection of paper, plastics and aluminum during the event. Bureau Veritas has certified the results achieved by the project.

The volunteers will be involved in a fund-raising activity in 7 different enter points in of the action area of the buskers (Ferrara historical center). In particular the 30% of the offers will be donated to IBO Italy that will use the founds to support the training and the values of voluntary world, youth mobility, and active citizenship. The association of the free Waldorf school manages the local school inspired by the principles of Anthroposophy (more info athttp://www.waldorfanswers.org). The school is a community of teachers and pupils¿ families and they all do the necessary works to maintain the school building and garden.

WORK:

Volunteers will support the teachers and the parents of the pupils in the manual work needed before the start of the school year: painting the classrooms, the desks and the chairs, clean the garden, arrange the play area for kids, repair desks, etc.

The Festa dei Popoli is a multicultural festival organized by a group of associations whose aim is to provide the city with an intercultural and ethnic event where people can meet, discuss and learn from eachothers on the issues coming from actual times and share togeher the marvellous place which is the Forte Altavilla, the venue of the festival. It is also a place where people from different ages, experience and nationalities can enjoy this summer event which is unique in the City

WORK:

Volunteers will help local volunteers in advertise, settle the festival,help in the kitchen, keep the Forte clean and clean after the event. Volunteers will join also cultural events within the festival wich will take place from the 17th -19th July 2014

ACCOMMODATION:

Accomodation will be in a school near the venue of the festival. Showers will be taken in another buiding nearby together with meals which will be cooked by volunteers. During the festival they will eat ethnic food from the festival.

LOCATION: Ancona, The Conero park and beaches. Volunteers will decide together what to do with their free time.

IG is cooperating with Social Cooperative " Pane e tulipani" who is managing a confiscated goo from mafia in the town of Cupramontana hosting a community house for disabled people. General perception of mafia all over Italy is that it is located only in Sicily and therefore it is quite unusual to have such an important place in Marche region, in the middle of hills and quiet land. This cooperation would be very important in order to raise awareness on education to legality in the region and among local population.

WORK:

The work will consist in manteinance and garden work in the confiscated good in Cupramontana. Volunteers will cultivate, prepare tomato sauce and live according with the rural rithms and will follow biological agriculture principles. They will start their work day very early in the morning, will have a siesta at lunch time and will work in the afternoon. Study part on education to legality will take place.

ACCOMMODATION:

Accomodation will be in the confiscated good inside tents, volunteers will eat what is produced by the garden.

WORK:

Volunteers will help local group of Ngo Rio de Oro in hosting Saharawi disabled kids coming to Italy within the frame of the yearly ¿summer hosting programme¿, helping and supporting them during meals, daily tasks, medical check-ups and bringing them to excursions. In the first days of the camp, they will attend a specific training in order to be able to better interact with children. Also a specific training about Feldenkrais reahabilitation therapy will be offered for volunteers.

Apriti Cuore is an association involved in social inclusion of different kinds of people, such as minors, adults, young migrants, ex offenders etc, and in particular hosts kids and youngsters victims of violence and/or abuse and disabled children providing them daily animation activities and entertainment, centers for daily youth activities, sheltered communities for them.

WORK: The volunteers will be involved in activities related with the two disable centres (adults and minors). Probably during the service period volunteer will also develop outdoor activities which could imply spending nights in structures with the youngsters. Activities are related with social animation.

WORK

Very small uninhabited island in front of Palermo known as a natural reserve since over 10 years. Volunteers will help in cleaning it, building stone paths, label and number rabbits¿ burrows. Location: The work will take place in Casa Bossi, a historical neoclassical building in the downtown of Novara, in Piemonte region.

Project: Casa Bossi is one of the most important and beautiful buildings of Novara, a fine work of the architect Alessandro Antonelli. The building has been left close to collapse for years, but in the last five years a group of volunteers established a Committee to save the building. They restored the vital structures of the house and started preservation works for contrasting the decay of the internal rooms. They also started organizing many cultural events to promote the building and make the citizenship aware of this architectonic heritage. Legambiente Novara wants to take part in this preserving and promoting activity also by improving the structure itself.

Work: The volunteers will be involved in cleaning activities, in the restoration of some important elements of the structure (windows and shutters), in the tidying and cleaning of the front garden. They will also help in organising the events that will take place during the evenings, and organising the final event in order to give visibility to the project to the citizens.

Accommodation: The volunteers will be hosted in the gym of a secondary school in Novara.

Location: Vaiano (10.000 inhabitants) was founded in the middle-age and is less than 10 km far from Prato, the main town of the area.. Several historical facts witness the presence of Galileo Galilei, one of the most important scientist for mankind.

Project: The aims of the workcamp are the wardship of the natural area ¿ANPIL Monti della Calvana¿ and the involvement of local communities in the public life. The project, in strict cooperation with the environmental responsible of the Municipality and the major of the town, will enhance the touristic, historical and naturalist routes of the urban centre as well as the natural surroundings. The Municipality will offer to volunteers a food supply totally coming from typical local high quality products.

Several ancient villas and house are displaced all over this territory. Villa Il Mulinaccio which is one of the most important villa of the area has an amazing public garden where volunteers will be asked to take care of plants and fruits inside there in order to let citizenship enjoy as better as possible this precious place. Legambiente Prato has already set up several activities, like ¿Clean up the world¿ 2013 edition, cooperating with the local Municipality of Vaiano.

Work: The work will consists in the recovery, cleaning of mountain pathways (¿strade bianche¿), maintenance of a public vegetables garden and the restoration, with the help of professional workers of the Municipality, of a small ancient roman wall called ¿muretto a secco¿.

Wardship of natural areas as well as trekking, touristic and hystorical pathways which surround the municipality of Carmignano, the involvement of public life and local communities are the aims of the workcamp. The project, in strict cooperation with the cultural and environmental responsible of the Municipality, will enhance the touristic, historical and naturalist routes of the protected areas as well the visibility from an international point of view of the small villages of Carmignano.

It will possible to discover part of the Spiritual Way and act in areas that require interventions by volunteers.

Project: The primary goal of the camp is to restore, improve and enhance the route of the Way of Saint Francis, and to prove that it can represent a fundamental asset and strategic approach to the development and valorisation of natural resources and alternative tourism, in the Sacred Valley. Volunteers will work to make easily accessible and improve the route of the Way,

Through the camp , we also want to increase the presence of the local group ¿Centro Italia- Legambiente¿, starting with virtuous actions of development and awareness, through cooperation with the municipalities of the Sacred Valley of Rieti.

Work: The volunteers will directly intervene in the path of the Way, restoring signage, as well as cleaning wild plants and recovery paths (fence, stick, etc). Moreover, they will organize collection of waste, nearby a place where we found illegal or irregular dump. A final report will be prepared and presented to the public at the end of the camp with the collaboration of the Association of the Way of Saint Francis.

Project: Anticoli Corrado could be a milestone for tourism. This because of its proximity to Rome,

because it is included in the Aniene Valley (that can be visited on foot or by bike), because it has a

long artistic history, because it is a very nice village. Anticoli Corrado has an important museum of modern and contemporary art and is an important touristic place but mostly for people from Rome. However it has an international vocation because of its history and artistic past.

Each summer, in Anticoli Corrado, people, local organisations and municipality organise several artistic or cultural events; the youngsters association organise a traditional street festival.

Work: The volunteers will help in the organisation of the events, contributing to create a ¿green pattern¿. They will also contribute to translate some promotional materials in foreign languages and will do conservation and valorization activities for the museum.

Therefore, the volunteers will contribute to the creation of a promotional ¿campaign¿, to enhance artistic and cultural tourism in Anticoli Corrado, in an intercultural way.

Location: Troina is a little town in the hinterland of Sicily, 1120m above the sea- level.

Project: The local Legambiente group has been managing the area around the Lake Ancipa since 2001, with the aim of making the small town of Troina able to host a sustainable tourism. The objective is also to reach the growth of the town, capitalizing on local natural resources. The work-camp gives the opportunity to reach this big purpose. In addition the work-camp gives to the local population the possibility to know people from different countries. Some students from the local schools will be involved in the work-camp as volunteers.

Work: The volunteers will be involved in the restoration of the path around the lake and in the building of a naturalistic route. Volunteers will be also involved in the renovation of the Church of Immacolata, built in 1500: the work will consist in cleaning and clearing up the underground of the church.

Accommodation: The volunteer will be hosted in a school in Troina with beds, a kitchen, toilets and a shower.

Language: English will be the official language of the camp.

Location: Sortino is located in the district of Siracusa, eastern Sicily.

Project: The local group of Legambiente ¿Ecopolis¿, was founded in the summer of 2005 and is one of the youngest Legambiente local group in Italy. It has always been working within the archaeological sites of the Necropolis of Pantalica including Unesco World Heritage sites, the Anapo Valley and the Hermitage of Santa Sofia. It already organized two workcamps and several cultural activities in the area of Sortino.

Work: Volunteers will be involved in working activities in the archaeological areas around Sortino: cleaning paths and social entertainment.

Accommodation: The volunteers will be hosted in an ancient building (XVI century), originally a church and a dormitory for hermits.

Language: English will be the official language in the camp.

Location: Cava Ispica is a natural canyon located in the Southern-East Sicily and an important historic site.

Project: The project mainly aims to recover the Cava Ispica archeological and nature walk¿s area, particularly Pernamazzoni area in the municipality of Modica. The cave is a perfect place to enjoy the archeological sites (catacombs, Byzantine churches, Paleolithic tombs, cave settlement) along the whole cave. Detailed information will be placed along the whole area to describe archeological monuments (about 30) and give the direction to every walks (about 3). One of the main activity will be the cleaning and recovering of cave village of Pernamazzoni, by the recovering of old frames and the construction of small fences and stairs. The cleaning of the trails will be useful to prevent fire: the trials are also a protection for the vegetation and the special biodiversity of the cave.

Work: The project involves several actions that will take place in the "Archaeological Park Cava Ispica", such as: clean the paths from weeds, restoration of the trails that are not accessible, organization of cultural events aimed at enhancing the sites.

Accommodation: Volunteers will be hosted in Permanazzoni refuge in the archeological park.

Language: English will be the official language in the camp.

PROJECT:Camerata Nuova (850 m) is a small town in the province of Rome, located in the Park of Simbruini mountain. The territory of this country is characterized by the presence of the ruins of the original and millenary country, called "Camorata", located at 1200 meters high. The old country (also known as the Old Camerata ) has been destroyed due to a fire in 1859. The ruins in addition to being a significant archaeological site is located in a pristine environment, of great importance in a natural landscape rich in flora and fauna indigenous. The work site is 30 minutes distance by car from the school.

WORK:Make available the trails leads to the ruins, in particular this year the original ancient paths shown on the Land Registry Gregorian. Volunteers will be engaged in cleaning and maintenance of trails under the sun and in hard condition.

LOCATION: Camerata Nuova, in the province of Rome, between the border of Lazio and Abruzzo regions, Center of Italy.

ACCOMMODATION: The volunteers cook, eat and sleep at a local school, equipped with showers and an indoor dining place.

PROJECT: Sorridere Insieme is a no-profit association that works in favor of deprived persons. It¿s mainly composed by young people, and in some periods of the year, we offer a food distribution service for needy families. We try to gather the youth of area to participate at educational activities. Our main purpose is the social reinsertion in a district of marginalization of the residents. Despite social individualism, of our historic period, in this context there is a frequent use of the ¿self-help¿.If this from one hand creates cohesion, on the other hand it generates isolation. For this reason, we want offer to the residents a open space to interaction and integration for development. ¿Zen in Inter-Renovation¿ is focused on renovation of a garden in state of abandon and on the Interaction for growth as an opportunity for mutual exchange.

LOCATION: ZEN (Zona Espansione Nord), also known as San Filippo Neri, is an economically deprived quarter in the northern outskirts of Palermo, Sicily, near the seaside (4 Km).It has as a population of around 16,000 people.

WORK: From August 2nd to August 6th, volunteers will work together with local people and will carry-out manual work such as:garden maintenance, weed and rubbish removing, gardening (planting of flowers).Volunteers will be provided with gloves and rakes. From August 7th, to August 10th, volunteers will carry-out intercultural activities with young and adult residents (sporting, cultural meals, exchanges of experience and best practices, multicultural dinners and moments) and also animation with local children.

August 11th: dinner¿s preparation and greetings. Volunteers will work for an average of 5/6 hours in a day.

FOOD AND LODGEMENT: Participants will be accommodated in one apartment in a district 15 minutes far to the workplace. Displacement will be done by buses and when it will possibleby car. Accommodation is equipped with 1shower, little camping kitchen and 1toilet (no washing machine, no wi-fi). Volunteers will sleep in sleeping bags which they must carry with them at the arrival. The location provides two main bedrooms which will be organized according to the volunteers' needs (Male or female only or mixed dorms).Staff will try to provide a more comfortable accommodation (mattresses, crash bed ).Volunteers will be able to cook in that structure. In the surroundings there are food services, bus stop and metro station. Staff will provide the food. Mainly: pasta, rice, tuna, tomato, milk, vegetables, yogurt, bread.Other foods in relation to the needs of volunteers (vegetarian and non-vegetarian food).

PROJECT: NOT.fest is a 3 -day music festival made of the most appealing international contemporary music productions , with a line-up offering live concerts and DJ sets in order to Satisfy dancehall music lovers and aficionados.

The camp in question was arranged to have a greater contribution in the organization of an event that has become more and more ambitious of its kind known . The area shows the NOT.fest is located in the Sports Centre Palatucci Contrada Zupparda , a few minutes from the heart of the city of Noto. The structure, where you can see a beautiful view of Noto, is located in a beautiful area of countryside a few kilometers from the sea and from the motorway Noto , about 45 ' drive from Catania and 20 ' from Syracuse. Outside there is ample parking allows the reception of the public media participant , within the location offers all the facilities to the public for the initiative

WORK: to make the most suggestive location of the festival and the promotion of the same .

The work will be divided into 4 parts:

¿ Cut the grass, clean camp areas , assembly facilities ;

¿ To promote the event, leafleting activities ;

¿ Operation in the three days of the festival ;

¿ accommodation location, garbage collection , dismantling structures .

The work will take place in 6 hours per day , varied in the different tasks .

ACCOMMODATION: The volunteers will cook with the staff in the area where the kitchen will be set up , close to all the activities on the basis of the preference of the volunteers. The food will be provided by the staff and will be agreed with the volunteers also for those who need special diets ( vegetarian, vegan , etc. . ) The accommodation will be in tents and will be available to them baths and showers both outdoors and indoors .

LOCATION: The workcamp " NOT.fest " held in Noto, UNESCO city and capital of Baroque , and provides an added value to the potential of the emerging capital of cultural tourism and seaside resort in eastern Sicily. Noto is 31 km from Syracuse , and is located in the south- west of the province at the foot of the mountains iblei, its coast , between Avola and Pachino , gives its name to the gulf.

PROJECT: Barile, a village of 3000 inhabitants is placed at the bottom of Monte Vulture, an inactive volcano covered with woodland, which made particularly fertile lands around: oil, chestnuts and wine in particular are the main products of the place. Barile is distinguished by two important features, Albanian origin of the inhabitants who have always experienced the daily exchanges between different cultures and the urban park of ¿wine cellars¿ called Cantine, where for centuries is produced an excellent and renowned wine: Aglianico. Here every year in August takes place the important festival Cantinando that combines culture, art, music, theater, juggling, food, the desire to know and share, the fun and of course the wine.

WORK: The project involves environment revaluation (cleaning wine cellars with hoes, shovels and rakes, cleaning of roads of the urban park of wine cellars, arrangement of paths, cleaning of wood) of places of natural interest around Barile (in the chestnut wood of Monte Vulture), in manual activities necessary for Cantinando festival, in pratical help to the management of the festival (preparation popular games and games for children, mounting stand and stages, service in places of comfort during the festival). Volunteers will collaborate closely with the youngsters of the local association.

Leisure time: During the free time volunteers will participate to the activities organized by the local association; if it¿s possible with the means and times, will organize excursions to the nearby cities (Melfi, Monticchio lakes, Rionero in Vulture) and visits to some local producers of wine.

ACCOMODATION: on keymats, in the local school.Food: The volunteers will manage a fully equipped kitchen with the help of one of the best cooks of Barile.

PROJECT: IRIDE ASSOCIATION are a group of young guys and girls moved by the love for our town. During this year we organized a lot of events and activities in Buccheri, with the aim of attract young people from the adjoining towns. This way we became very soon the center of young's meet up. We would like that volunteers share with us our beautiful town, so to leave them a little bit of our love for Buccheri.

WORK: Volunteers will be involved in a very interesting archeological project, divided in different steps. The first one (this summer one) will be about the cleaning and the preparation for the main excavation. It could be an unforgettable chance to learn, with the help of archeologists, and have fun with Buccheri's people, known all around south-east Sicily to be very pleasant. Volunteers will already be involved in MEDFEST, a very important medieval festival, able to attract visitors from all the Sicily. Volunteers could already be involved in some activity relating to the festival (Organization of a show, participate to the medieval procession or anything else the volunteers will like to do).

ACCOMMODATION: Volunteers will be housed in a school, which has kitchen and showers. In cooking meals will depend on the volunteers themselves.

LOCATION:Buccheri is a small town placed in the south-east of Sicily, near Syracuse. It has 2500 inhabitants and summer weather is great, thanks to its highness (about 820 m), that makes Buccheri the highest town of Iblei Mountains.

PROJECT:Camp @rt Festival: the festival wants to be an opportunity for young artists to vent and to give space to their own fantasy and inspiration through different art forms: impromptu painting and sculpture, live performances of the best independent musicians local, national and international. The main objective is to share, to promote and to increase the personal artistic, cooperative and respectful background, stimulating the volunteers to the active participation it self. The official motto of Camp@rt is ¿The festival is you¿, because everyone can contribute to make it better. This Workcamp is organized to have more assistance in the implementation and the organization of the activities of the whole festival.

WORK: clean the area of the festival, prepare the space for the activities, prepare and build structures for the camp area either for the leisure time. At the same time, all the volunteers have to advert it wandering in the town getting in touch with the local community. The work will take place in Cefalù and surroundings, and it will be divided into three parts:

¿ cut grass, clean camp areas, installation of structures.

¿ advertise events, leafleting.

¿ arrangement of location, garbage collection, dismantling structures.

The work will be done in 5 hours a day, varied in the different tasks. Everyone can choose their 3 free days, which cannot matching the dates of the Festival 23:24: 25 August.

Food and accommodation: the volunteers, along with the staff, will cook in the area of all activities, where will be sat up a kitchen and the food will be provided by the staff, agreed with the volunteers whether there are special needs (vegetarians, vegans, intolerants¿). The accommodation will be in tents and will be available indoors and outdoors toilets and showers.

LOCATION: this workcamp will take place in Cefalù, an historical town close to Palermo city (Sicily), in the equestrian facility of ¿Ippo Club¿ association. Cefalù is located on the northern coast of Sicily (Italy) on the Tyrrhenian Sea about 70km east of Palermo and 185km west of Messina.

PROJECT: The Rest House ¿Alessandro Chierichetti¿ was funded 60 years ago in the small village of Gagliole to host people who suffers. In the last years it takes care for free to poor elderly and mental disable. At the moment there are 50 hosts. The Municipality wish to promote solidarity, fun and leisure time for the hosts of the Rest House and try to involve local youngsters in intercultural exchange and voluntarism.

WORK: the work is a manual work it will consist mainly in the construction and renovation of the center (painting, cleaning etc). The volunteers will also participate in recreational activities and animation activities of the Rest House's guests during the mornings and take part to small trips.

LOCATION:The place is quite isolated: Gagliole has 600 inhabitants, and is in the countryside of the beautiful region Marche, Macerata province.

ACCOMODATION: In a Guest house in the close village called Castelraimondo.

PROJECT: The local Civil Protection association VAB is working in implementing the awareness and skills to face civil protection emergencies, involving volunteers and citizens in practical activities and trainings. The association has been organizing camps for years and in 2010 need the help of international volunteers to go further.

WORK: small construction works, renovation of the association building, preparation of the site for the campus (fences, electric and water wires...), environmental protection.
