Food for Children and Teens Oakland, Macomb, and Wayne Counties Michigan Department of Health & Human Services (MDHHS) has increased existing food assistance programs and added new ones (see below) to assist families with children with food during the COVID-19 pandemic. If you need help with food, you may apply for these benefits online. If you don’t already have a MiBridges account, you’ll have to create one first online. DHHS’s client portal web site: Michigan.gov/MIBridges. If you need help resetting your MI Bridges password/username or other technical assistance while using the MIBridges web site to apply for benefits or manage your case, call the Help Desk at 844-799-9876 or read the FAQs by clicking here. The Help Desk is open Monday through Friday from 8:00AM-7:00PM. The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) In response to the coronavirus pandemic, as of March 27, Michigan increased all SNAP recipients to the maximum benefit amount and waived the federal work requirement for able-bodied adults without dependents who receive SNAP.
