University Responsibilities Administrative experience in Covenant University

2020 to 2021: Acting-Dean, School of Postgraduate studies, Covenant University. . oversee the implementation of all administrative and academic plans of the SPS; . provide first level mentorship and supervision for other administrative staff of the School 2018 to 2020: Sub-dean, School of Postgraduate studies, Covenant University. Some of the key activities of the office of the Sub-Dean are to:

 deputize or act in situations when the Dean is not available;  oversee the implementation of all administrative and academic plans of the SPS;  provide first level mentorship and supervision for other administrative staff of the School;  Chair, all PhD oral final defense in Covenant University  Coordinate the admissions of new students, and monitor the progress of postgraduate students. The admission process usually involves a written exam and an oral interview of prospective candidates;  coordinate and chair the meeting of the Committee of the SPS in cases when the Dean is not available;  organize meeting with students on salient issues as deemed appropriate by the Dean or the Committee of the SPS;  Organize periodic mentorship seminars for students as deemed fit by the Dean of the SPS or the committee of the SPS.  Organize the orientation of new students after they have resumed as students of the SPS.  Organize the hooding event of the SPS, where prizes and awards are given to graduating students.  Ensure that all students adhere to the ethics and codes of conduct of the school.  Compile all relevant documents that are relevant for smooth running of postgraduate programmes. These include the postgraduate handbook, book of abstracts of Doctoral Theses and Master’s Dissertation.  prepare the academic calendar and lecture time table of the SPS  Organize the payment of honoraria to deserving internal supervisors, external supervisors, associate lectures who have been involved in postgraduate training.  undertake other assignments as delegated by the Dean of the SPS;
