Easter is almost upon us • School Camp and it is hard to believe that we are now only 6 school days away from the term break. It has been an exciting term full of fantastic learning opportunities and achievements for your children. The introduction of our new entrant room has been an overwhelming success and we look forward Upcoming Dates: to continuing that into term 2. There is a great write up in the Piako Post today show casing the school and what we are doing. Morrinsville Custom Kills Mother’s Evening – Tomorrow night (Thursday 26th March) the PTA are hosting a mother’s evening here at school. There will be coffee (the flash variety) & cake being served (as well as hot chocolate & tea for those who aren’t coffee drinkers). The motivation behind the evening is for mums to come together for a chat and a get together about school and anything else that you fancy (the bachelor, X-factor…) Please come along and mix with mums, it will be a fun evening and you will not be roped into any jobs, we promise! School Newsletter – It has come to our attention that a good number of you would prefer the newsletter to be emailed to you instead of, or as well as your paper copy. This is no problem at all. If you would like to be added to our email list then simply email Angela in the office with your email address and she will add you to the list. Angela’s email is [email protected] Accounts –PLEASE can all accounts be settled by the end of next week. Thank you. PTA Cookbook – The Motumaoho School PTA are in the process of putting together a very practical and inspiring cookbook, HOWEVER in order to get it over the line they WANT & NEED your favourite family recipes please. If you can, they would love you to make it and supply a photo with the recipe, but if you cannot then just the recipe would be great. PLEASE get in behind the PTA and support this great initiative. BREAKING NEWS – the PTA have now secured the support of Brett McGregor, NZ master chef winner. Brett will help launch the cookbook for us and will also be baking some of our creations – imagine if it is yours! BMX Track – Thanks to the efforts of Ash Dewhurst we can once again see the BMX track and it is ready for riding. Please encourage your children to bring their bikes and a helmet on Friday, and have a zoom around the track, it’s great fun. Friday Lunches – This week is chicken wraps @ $2.50 + popsicles @ $1 and mini’s @ 0.50c Weetbix – If anyone would like a box of Weetbix, we have a bit of a surplus supply here at school, please come to office and we can sort you out! School Camp 2015 – School camp this year is locked in for November 3rd – 6th. The juniors will be at camp overnight on Tuesday 3rd returning in the afternoon of the 4th. The seniors will have 3 nights, returning on Friday 6th. Our destination is Pirongia park lodge. A number of our students have been there before, however the beauty of this venue is the wide variety of activities available. Early in term 2 I will get into classrooms and get an idea of what experiences and challenges the children would like to take on this year, and plan activities accordingly. As far as the cost goes, for those who want to start putting some money aside now, juniors would be no more than $80 - $100 max, seniors $100 - $150 depending on what activities we choose. There will be more information as it comes to hand. Kind regards Justin & staff. 2 NETBALL WORKSHOP Year 5-8 netballers wanting to kick-start your 2015 netball season learning new skills and drills, are invited to join in the fun with the Orini Whitikahu Netball Club 28th March 2015: 1pm-5pm, Morrinsville Netball Centre, Campbell Park, Morrinsville.
