Mary Jo Peterson, CMKBD, is an award-winning designer whose work has earned national recognition including induction into the National Kitchen & Bath Association’s Hall of Fame. She is 2019 DPHA Product certified in kitchen, bath, aging-in-place, and active adult housing design and has 25 years of experience. Peterson is also pres- of the Year Guide ident of Mary Jo Peterson, Inc., a firm that focuses on residential projects and provides design support to major homebuilders and product manufacturers nationwide. A universal design expert, she has authored multiple books on the subject and is a frequent national speaker and educator. She has developed and taught courses on sustainability in DPHA recognizes the kitchen/bath design and outdoor kitchen design. Peterson has been instrumental in the development of the original and recent versions of the Certified Aging in Place outstanding efforts and Specialist courses (CAPS) for the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), as contributions of the 2019 well as NAHB’s Universal Design/Build course. In addition to designing in South Florida, Alena also has worked on design projects nationwide, including New York, California, Arizona, Mas- sachusetts, Minnesota, and Georgia. She is a Certified Master Kitchen and Bath Designer, whose projects have won national awards and been featured in national and regional media outlets.

A graduate of the University of Miami and the Metropolitan Institute of Design, Alena was named one of four final- ists for the NKBA’s Professional of the Year Award in 2016, and most recently, one of six “Praiseworthy Picks,” for Kitchen & Bath Business magazine’s Person of the Year feature. In addition, she has been a member of the NKBA’s Certification Test Board, and has also served as a judge for the NKBA’s National Kitchen & Bath Design Competition. For the past five years, she has served as the Industry Ambassador for Coverings, the largest global tile and stone exhibition in North America. Beyond her work as a designer, Alena also spends time as an on-air personality, sharing her design expertise on local and national TV, on design-related educational videos, at home shows, showroom openings and other industry events. She has been featured on Lifetime, DYI, History Channel, H2, and she hosts a weekly design show on the local ABC affiliate in Miami/Fort Lauderdale, WPLG Local 10.

Alissa Ponchione has worked in trade journalism for most of her career, writing for Nightclub & Bar, Hotel News Now and, currently, as executive editor of Hospitality Design magazine, a leading publication in the hospitality industry. She has a degree in journalism from Ohio University, and a master’s in literature from American University.

Marquis Tub Hydro Systems

The Marquis is constructed of proprietary Hydroluxe SS solid surface blend. The bathtub includes a standard linear integral waste and overflow along with lumbar support on both backrests. Muse iWash Integrated Bidet Seat ICERA

The Muse iWash is an integrated bidet toilet that offers cleaning power while conserving floor space with its two-in-one design. A minimalist silhouette and skirted trapway conceal the extraordinary technology that sets the Muse iWash apart. A bowl-cleansing pre-mist is activated whenever the seat is occupied, and an automated flush allows a sanitary touch- free experience. It also features a deodorizer, in-bowl LED night light, heated seat, warm air dryer with adjustable temperature settings to the rear, and front oscillating sprayers with variable positioning. Sonar double bowl washbasin breaks the constraints by natural design limits – the traditional ceramic materials used in bathrooms could be fashioned into only a restricted range of shapes. Sonar Double Bowl Washbasin was honored with iF and BoY Awards, Best of NYCxDesign and AN Product of the Year.

Surfaces are delicate and thin, but define spatial volumes as a whole. Together with a subtle balance of edges and curves, dialogue between elementary forms that harmoniously interact with one another make the design unique. The sloping surfaces on the base of the basin guide water smoothly to a transverse recess that obscures the drain both ingenuous- ly and elegantly. Double bowl washbasins can now be installed even in small bathrooms without adversely affecting bowl capacity or room layout.

Designed, engineered and made in Germany, the thermostatic 3-way valve is constructed of precision turned, high-quality brass resistant to wear, lime scale and contamination. Braided sieves made of high alloy woven stainless steel provide optimal performance and prevent damage from particles of dirt from penetrating the valve from incoming water. The Flühs Eco Drive allows for optimum temperature settings, fast thermal element shut down in case of cold-water loss and fast response time to reduce hot and cold-water spikes. The thermostatic valve has an integrated shut-off, volume control and 3-way diverter. The in2aqua thermostatic valves have a flow rate of 7.5 GPM at 45 psi.

The award-winning in2itiv rough-in mounting system is a patented technology that sets it apart from all other rough-ins. The in2itiv rough-in mounting system was awarded the AIT Innovation Prize “Architecture + Technology” at the ISH show in Frankfurt, Germany. It is the first patented valve mounting system that “decouples” the valve from the mounting wall thus reducing water noise transfer when operating. The rough-in mounting system allows for easy wall depth adjustments and compensates for uneven mounting surfaces.
