Badania wykonano w latach 2012–2013 w Ogrodzie Botanicznym Uniwersytetu im. Adama Mickiewicza w Poznaniu. Ich celem było poznanie struktury jakościowej zgrupowań parazytoidów z podrodzin Pimplinae i Poemeniinae (Hymenoptera, Ichneumonidae) zasiedlają- cych rośliny na tym terenie. W badaniach wykorzystano 10 żółtych pułapek Moerickego, do których odławiano imagines Ichneumonidae. W latach 2012–2013 z terenu ogrodu pobrano 410 prób. Odłowiono 58 osobników należących do podrodziny Pimplinae, które oznaczono do 21 gatunków. Stanowiły one 15,9% fauny Polski oraz 28,2% gatunków wykazanych z Wielkopolski. Odłowiono także jeden gatunek Podoschistus scutellaris (Desv.), który należał do podrodziny Poemeniinae. W badanym środowisku stwierdzono dominację gatunku Pimpla contemplator (Muell.), który jest endoparazytoidem poczwarek Lepidoptera i Hymenoptera. Po raz pierwszy z Wielkopolski wykazano gatunek Piogaster albina Perkins. Acta Universitatis Agriculturae et Silviculturae Mendelianae Brunensis, 65(1): 0167–0170. The subfamily Cryptinae Kirby, 1837 is considered the largest group in the Ichneumonidae with more than 400 described genera including around 4500 species. The subfamily has a worldwide distribution and its members play a key role in the biological control as parasitoids of many important pests. The study provides a new and updated overview of the Slovakian ichneumonid fauna after 28 years. So far over 750 species of Ichneumonidae have been reported from Slovakia, including around 150 species in the subfamily Cryptinae. Our study presents a complete checklist of Cryptinae and adds 32 species to the Slovakian fauna. The study was carried out in 1999-2001 in shrubs and road borders in the agricultural landscape of complex structure near Lisówki. The species of 38 Pimplinae were found (27.7% of the country‘s fauna of this subfamily and 59.4% those found in Wielkopolska), three species of Rhyssinae and one species of subfamilies Diacritinae and Poemeniina each. Two species new for Wielkopolska were found, namely Deuteroxorides elevator (Panzer) (Poemeniinae) and Megar- hyssa perlata (Christ) (Rhyssinae). A high similarity 51.3% of the species composition between Pimplinae shrubs and road borders was found. Key words: ichneumonid, refugium habitats, agricultural landscape, Wielkopolska Introduction Refugium habitats of shrubs and road borders belong to important elements that en- hance agricultural landscape. They maintain biodiversity and stimulate the mechanisms of self-control in agrocenoses. They become places of wintering and dispersion on the neighbouring fields, the source of food and a feeding habitat of entomophages’ alterna- tive hosts, including parasitoids of the Ichneumonidae family (Hymenoptera, Apocrita). In Poland the data on Ichneumonidae of those habitats are only fragmentary (Strawiń- ski 1957, Kościelska 1959). In Wielkopolska studies of Ichneumonidae of refugium habitats are in progress and their results were presented in earlier publications by Piekarska-Boniecka (1999, 2005) and Piekarska-Boniecka and Wilkaniec (2001). In 1999-2001 those studies were continued in the agricultural landscape of complex structure and their results are presented herein. -

The study was conducted in an orchard environment composed of apple orchards and their edges, such as agricultural fields, shrubberies and a road lined with trees and shrubs. The aim of the study was to determine the influence of diversity level of edge plants of an apple orchard on the quantitative and qualitative structure of parasitoid communities of the Pimplinae subfamily in the orchards. It was found that in an orchard environment composed of an apple orchard and well-developed edge plants a species diversity and abundance of parasitoids were higher than in an orchard environment composed of an orchard and neighbouring agricultural areas. -

Life history evolution in the parasitoid Hymenoptera Ruth Elizabeth Traynor This thesis was submitted for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy University of York Department of Biology 2004 Abstract This thesis addresses life history evolution of the parasitoid Hymenoptera. It aims to identify assumptions that should be incorporated into parasitoid life history theory and the predictions that theory should aim to make. Both two species and multi-species comparative studies as well as up-to-date phylogenetic information are employed to investigate these issues. Anecdotal observations suggest that solitary parasitoids have narrower host ranges than closely related gregarious species. There are several possible reasons for this; for example gregarious species may be able to exploit larger bodied hosts because they can fully consume the host, which may be essential for successful pupation to occur. Comparative laboratory experiments between two closely related species of Aphaereta, one of which is solitary and the other gregarious, show no difference in the extent of host range. This study does, however, suggest that differences in the realized niche that each species occupies in the field may result from life history differences between the species. These differences may themselves have arisen due to solitary or gregarious development. The first multi-species study in the thesis uses a data set, compiled for the parasitic Hymenoptera by Blackburn (1990), to address factors that may influence body size and clutch size. This study builds on previous analyses of the data (see Blackburn 1990, 1991a/b, Mayhew & Blackburn 1999) through the use of up-to-date phylogenetic information. Evidence is found that the host stage attacked by a parasitoid is associated with both body and clutch size, due to the amount of resources available for the developing parasitoids. -

Rey del Castillo RESUMEN Se presentan los resultados globales del inventario de Hymenoptera llevado a cabo en el área de la Estación Biogeológica de El Ventorrillo, un área natural enclavada a 1450 metros de altitud en el sector central madrileño de la Sierra de Guadarrama. Con un programa de muestreo basado fundamentalmen- te en el uso de trampas Malaise, y adicionalmente trampas bandeja coloreadas y redes de barrido, lle- vado a cabo entre los años 1988 y 1991, se colectaron más de 1.000.000 de ejemplares de insectos que han sido ingresados en las colecciones del Museo Nacional de Ciencias Naturales de Madrid. Cerca de 600.000 ejemplares de insectos fueron separados hasta el nivel de orden, de los cuales 83.668 (un 13.8%) correspondieron al orden Hymenoptera, siendo después de Diptera (450.000 ejemplares, un 77,5% del total) el orden de insectos más numeroso en los muestreos. En las muestras colectadas se han identificado hasta la fecha 49 familias 518 géneros y 1310 especies de Hymenoptera; la riqueza total de himenópteros en las muestras colectadas se estima en más de 2700 especies, y la del conjunto de insec- tos en el inventario del área estudiada se estima en unas 13.000 especies.
