6 W3C Benelux Office hosted at Centrum Wiskunde & Informatica (CWI)

- Since 1998, the W3C Benelux Office is based at CWI in Amsterdam

- CWI is where the European internet started (17 Nov. 1988) and where .nl was registered (25 April 1986); >160 researchers, 22 spin-offs - Web related R&D since the mid-1990s; many W3C activities; Ivan Herman (Digital Publishing Lead) and Steven Pemberton (XForms co-chair; HTML chair for many years ) based at CWI; CSS, SMIL, RDF, … 7

Office Activities

- Regional contact point for members - Outreach, such as a series of masterclasses with ISOC.nl on CSS, Xforms, HTML5, WebRTC and Web apps; Web Payment IG; hosting events with members such as EIII for Accessiblity
