What do we love the most about Bloomingdale? The people we share it with! That’s why we support the families and kids here, the local businesses, and the nonprofit organizations, too. Instead of just providing banking solutions, we also take pride in giving back to the people who work to make this area so great. Why? Because this isn’t just home to us; it’s home to all of us. And, as a true community bank, we know that when we all do our part, we can help make this community better for everyone.

Greetings! Fall 2021 As I write this in mid-July, there finally seems to be a sense of normalcy returning with regard to Park District programming. t’sI encouraging to see our larger events (Fall Fest, Halloween Party and Festival of Lights) as well as our regular programs (Preschool Adventures, School’s Out!) return. We are grateful to you who have helped stop the spread of COVID-19 so we can return to our full slate of activities! I never thought I’d be more happy to say “Back to School!” but here we are. Check out some of these special event favorites returning this fall/winter. • Fishing Derby – September 14 at Lakeview Park • Fall Fest – October 8 at Circle Park • Halloween Party – October 23 at Village Hall • Festival of Lights and Kris Kringle Market – December 3 at Old Town Bloomingdale The Bloomingdale Park District continues to serve a vital role in the community by offering preschool, before- and after-school programming, and days- off-of-school activities. Some of these programs have changed over the past year, and we’ll continue to modify them as we adapt to ever-changing rules and guidelines. But the most important thing to know is that your child is safe when in our care. Please stay connected to our social media (Facebook, Twitter and Instagram), subscribe to our e-newsletter, and check out our website regularly (www. bloomingdaleparks.org) to stay in the know. I sincerely hope you had a happy and healthy summer. I encourage you to get outside and enjoy all the Bloomingdale Park District has to offer this fall. See you in our parks! Group 22: “Inspirit” August 21 – September 18 Gallery I In the mid-fifties a group of Arlington Heights artists met to stimulate, support and educate their art making. All had a goal of a career with their art, and in this unified spirit, they founded the Countryside Art Center. After 40 years of community involvement, the village razed the building, but the mission remained strong, with Group 22 emerging. Thus, in unified diversity, Group 22 presents the multimedia exhibit: Inspirit.

“Waterlily” by Arline Sadlon Gene McCormick: “People, Places & Pleasures: Living with Gusto” August 21 – September 18 Gallery II More than 50 recent paintings illuminate the artistic visions of Gene McCormick. Done in a neo-expressionistic style that bows more to passion and spontaneity than technical verity, the paintings emphasize the coloration of bright, vivid lives, places and pleasures in a manner accessible to the most casual viewer. Gene McCormick’s paintings are in private and commercial collections nationwide. He has designed more than twenty small press book covers and is the illustrator for the venerable online poetry journal, Misfitmagazine.net. For several years he designed a line of women’s casual couture wear for a charitable foundation. McCormick regularly has solo exhibitions in the greater Chicago area, where he resides with his wife, Marie, and dog, Jack. He can be contacted at [email protected]. *Meet the artist events: August 21 & 28, 12-2PM

Programs with Children Under 12 • For indoor programs and rooms with children under the age of 12, face coverings will be required for all involved until a vaccine is available. • For outdoor programs with children under the age of 12, children and staff may remove masks while outside and maintaining social distancing.

Unvaccinated Rules • While indoors, those who are not fully vaccinated must wear a face covering and social distance. • While outdoors, those not fully vaccinated are encouraged to wear a face covering when they cannot socially distance. • An unvaccinated person should wear a face covering inside and out in crowded settings.

Fully Vaccinated Rules • While indoors, those who are fully vaccinated are highly encouraged to wear a face covering and social distance in areas of substantial or high transmission. • If a vaccinated individual has been exposed to a person testing positive for COVID-19, it is recommended (IDPH) that he/she get tested 3-5 days following the exposure and wear a mask in public, indoor settings for 14 days after exposure or until receiving a negative test result.

Encouraged • We continue to encourage everyone to wear a face covering in our facility and social distance.

Honor System • For your protection and the safety of all patrons, the Park District expects your cooperation with masking protocols. • Currently, the Park District is not tracking patrons and participants for vaccinations. By participating in a Park District program, lesson, or activity, or visiting a Park District facility without a face mask, you are verifying truthfully that you have been fully vaccinated.
