Traditional Arts and craft

When Kanazawa was flourished as a castle town under Maeda Clan, master craftsman from and Kyoto were invited to develop original arts and crafts in Kanazawa which were handed down today. Kenrokuen Garden and Park

Kenrokuen Garden is one of the most three famous gardens in and awarded three stars by Michellin Guides. Kanazawa Castle was restored to the original castle of Maeda Clan of . Higashi District

This is the largest Geisha district of three that are in Kanazawa. The historical rows of teahouses with stone pavement, lattices, and tiled roofs make the scene photogenic. Some teahouses remain the tradition of "no first-time customers" while some are open to public during the day. Cafes and souvenir shops are in business and the area has become a popular tourist spot recently.

Omi-cho Market

Established in 1721, the market has been called "Kitchen of Kanazawa." There are about 180 stores including fresh fish markets, vegetable stores, restaurants and more. It attracts many locals and tourists all the year around because it is located near Kanazawa JR Station and downtown district.

This art museum was opened in October, 2004 and attract over 2million visitors a year. It is located in the center of the downtown Kanazawa. The museum offers a variety of exhibitions that stimulate visitors' all five senses including touchable and rideable ones.

Kanaiwa and Ono Areas

Kanaiwa and Ono Areas prospered as a port town on the route in Kanazawa from the middle of the 18th century to the beginning of the 20th century. Soy sauce manufactures, shrines and temples still remain in these nostalgic areas. Some of the highlights are galleries, cafes, "Kanazawa Port Iki-Iki Fish Market" and "Karakuri Museum." Try "soy sauce flavored ice cream" which became a new local specialty.

Kaga (Onsen District)

Awazu, Katayamazu, Yamashiro, Yamanaka make the Kaga onsen districts. There are high quality onsen with sophisticated Ryokan (Japanese style inns) and restaurants in the area. It is a one-hour drive from Kanazawa Port so the passengers can go and come back during their port of call.

Shirakawa-go

This village trapped in time was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site alongside Gokayama in Prefecture in 1995. Hida Furukawa

Hida Furukawa instantly became famous when it became the setting for a hit 2016 animated film that drew fans from all across the world. This castle town flourished in the (1603-1868), and was home to many merchants and artisans. The Seto Canal, filled with more than 1,000 swimming Japanese carps, is lined with many tall earthen storehouses. You can also get tours of one of the many sake breweries or traditional shops that specialize in warosoku (Japanese candles).

Cruise Welcome Club of Kanazawa Port

Established in the spring of 2013, over 7,000 people joined the club to welcome and show the appreciation to the cruise ships visiting Ishikawa. Last year, members' performances were highly acclaimed by the passengers and crews.
