There is no airport in the Island of Spetses. The nearest airport is Athens International Airport (Eleftherios Venizelos). The easiest way to go to Spetses is with the Flying Dolphin/Flying Cats and ferry boats that leave from Pireaus. From the airport to the port of Pireaus The Express Bus X96 runs to Piraeus, a handy way to connect with many ferries to the Greek islands. The trip takes about 1½ hour and runs at least every half-hour. The bus departs from the arrival level, between Exit 4 and 5. You get your ticket from the ticket office between exit door 4 and 5 from the arrival halls (from the outside). A one-way ticket is about 5 Euro and the approximately travel time is 1½ hour. The bus goes directly to the Centre of Pireaus. The bus terminal is on walking distance to the spot from where the boats leave for Spetses. From the port of Pireaus to Spetses Flying Cats/Flying Dolphin (Highspeed vessels to Saronic Gulf) are leaving several times daily. The trip lasts about 2½ hour. Information to Spetses from Pireaus Port - and online booking - can be found on www.hellenicseaways.gr. You are strongly advised to book your transportation to and from Spetses since, due to the high season in Greece, several connections can be booked out by the time you reach Greece. From Piraeus (Athens) to Spetses: Flying Cats/Flying Dolphins (about 2-3 hours), the travelling time varies depending on how many stops the hydrofoil makes on the way. 1. From Spetses harbour to Spetses Hotel On foot: it takes about 20-30 min to walk the distance along the water - starting from the main square to the right of Dapia Harbour as you look at it from the sea. A water taxi takes up to around 8 people. The water taxis are very close to the hydrofoils and they sail straight to the pier of the Spetses Hotel - then you need to walk 5 more minutes along the water. By hourse buggies: the horse buggies, which take up to four people - or two people with luggage - are parked by the harbour in front of the Possidonion Hotel to the right of Dapia Harbour . Make sure you arrange the price in advance. .
