Crudwell Pre-School

We have now finished our academic year, it was not the normal finish for our school leavers but it was still very special. The children enjoyed a mini sports day, graduation and disco. We wish them lots of love and luck on their new journey and we will miss them lots. We are really looking forward to opening to all children in September, we have many children who were with us this year returning but also have many new faces. We cannot wait to learn, laugh and play together. Although Pre-School is now closed , I am still here throughout the summer holidays to answer any e mails/ phone calls so please e mail/ring me if you have any questions or if you would like to register your child with Crudwell Pre-school - 07986622191 or [email protected]. Have a wonderful summer!

While the site has now well over 700 members it is important that it remains focussed on Crudwell and the surrounding area. 4 Crudwell Neighbourhood Plan Update 31 July 2020

Wiltshire Council’s final consultation (called Reg 16) on the Crudwell Neighbourhood Plan on the 29th closes at 5pm on Friday the 24th August 2020. The Neighbourhood Plan document set is available for you to access on the internet, or by printed copy from if you do not have internet access. Please ensure that you make any representations which you wish to by that date. The plan, when made, will allow us in Crudwell to determine the pace and scale of future developments and to influence their location, design and affordability. Without a made Plan Wiltshire Council might permit extra housing in Crudwell to fix a land supply problem. This is much less likely once we have a made Plan or indeed the closer we get to this. Where to view the Plan A copy of the submitted Plan, along with the other supporting documents, is available to review in the following ways: - view online at https://consult.wiltshire.gov.uk/portal/ - b y r e q u e s t i n g a p r i n t e d c o p y f r o m W i l t s h i r e C o u n c i l b y emailing: [email protected] or calling 01225 713598 or 770354. - from the Parish Clerk at: [email protected]. The consultation period ends at 5pm on Monday 24th August. How to submit your comments Once you have viewed the Plan, any comments need to be sent to Wiltshire Council by emailing [email protected] or you can leave your comments on Wiltshire Council’s consultation portal here: https://consult.wiltshire.gov.uk/portal/ . A form and paid reply envelope can be provided by contacting Wiltshire Council by email or calling the numbers above. A flyer from the Steering Group giving a brief overview of the main plan policies including the housing site allocation is available on the internet at my-Crudwell.org and copies are available for those not on the internet via your Street Leaders or from the Post Office. We are planning to hold a question and answer session in the parish allotments between 11am and 12:30pm on Saturday the 8th August. While this event is primarily being held at the request of Tuners Lane residents others may be able to attend. If you wish to do so and do not live in the Tuners Lane locality please email us at [email protected] in order that we can prioritise attendance and comply with social distancing requirements. We are also considering a second event in late August if demand is sufficient. Details of this and how to attend will be published on our website www.my-crudwell.org and via our NP mailing list. Please let us know if you would like to attend, again by emailing us at [email protected]. Any questions If you have any questions for the Steering Group, please email us at [email protected]. Instead, each week, people who live in 3 of the villages will be invited to come. • Cluster 1 is made up of Crudwell, Ashley and • Cluster 2 is made up of Charlton, and Holy Communion services will look a little different, there will only be the sharing of bread and you are asked to bring your own bread.

Crudwell Strawberry Fayre

This time last year, when the world was a very different place, the strawberry fayre committee was delighted to report that more than £5,000 had been raised by people living in Crudwell, visitors and our generous sponsors, who all took part in the weekend’s strawberry fayre activities. The money raised, as in the 32 previous years that the event had been held, was donated to help fund vital maintenance work on the fabric of our historic and beautiful village church. Then along came Covid 19 and this year’s fayre, together with so many other events and activities, had to be cancelled. We are confident, however, that it will take place in 2021. The date has been set for the weekend of July 10 and 11 and planning has already begun. There will also be an open gardens event around the village, a chance to see how much people’s gardens have benefitted from the enforced leisure time we have all endured. Please think about opening your garden next summer for others to admire – details to follow nearer the time. Crudwell has a well-deserved reputation for being an active and generous-spirited community and we hope that everyone who has so kindly given of their time and/or sponsorship to make the strawberry fayre such a success in the past will do so again next year. We look forward to seeing you. Stay safe.
