Monsignor Joseph Ansaldi was accused of sexually abusing a male minor child on approximately twenty occasions from approximately 1984 to 1985 when the male child was approximately 15 to 16 years old. At the time of the sexual abuse, Monsignor Ansaldi was employed as the principal of St. Joseph by the Sea High School in Staten Island, New York, and the boy was a student at the school. The sexual abuse by Monsignor Ansaldi took place in Monsignor Ansaldi’s office and included the following: Monsignor Ansaldi forced the boy to bend over in front of a desk. Then Monsignor Ansaldi smacked the boy’s buttocks with a paddle. At the same time, Monsignor Ansaldi fondled the boy’s genitals over the boy’s pants. The claim settled in 2020 in the mid-five figures.

Monsignor Beausang died in August 2000.

Monsignor Charles Beausang was accused of sexually abusing a male minor child on one occasion in approximately 1950 when the boy was approximately nine years old. At the time of the claimed sexual abuse, Monsignor Beausang was assigned to Our Lady Star of the Sea Church in Atlantic City, New Jersey. The sexual abuse by Monsignor Beausang took place inside Our Lady Star of the Sea School, where the male child was a student. Monsignor Beausang told the boy to expose the boy’s penis to Monsignor Beausang and to masturbate in front of the boy. Monsignor Beausang began to unfasten the boy’s belt buckle, and then the boy ran away. The claim settled in 2020 in the four figures.

The sexual abuse took place inside Sacred Heart Church and inside the boy’s family home in Coleman, Texas. Father Thomas J. Crum was accused of sexually abusing a male minor child on one occasion in approximately 1981 when the boy was approximately 12 years old. At the time of the sexual abuse, Father Crum was assigned to St. Christine’s Church in Youngstown, Ohio. The sexual abuse took place in a hotel in Colorado during a trip Father Crum took with the boy. The sexual abuse by Father Crum included the following: Father Crum gave the boy alcohol to drink, and the boy felt the effects of the alcohol. Father Crum then removed all of his clothing and instructed the boy to remove his own clothing. Father Crum then placed the boy’s hand on Father Crum’s erect penis, skin-on-skin. The claim settled in 2020 in the low five figures.

The sexual abuse by Father Hansen consisted of Father Hansen repeatedly fondling the boy’s penis and testicles, both over the boy’s clothing and inside the boy’s clothing, skin-on-skin. The claimant passed away prior to the resolution of his claim. The claim settled on behalf of the claimant’s estate in 2020 in the high five figures.

At the time the sexual abuse began, Father Healy was serving at Cosmas and Damian Church in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, and the girl was a student at the affiliated Saints Cosmas and Damian High School in Punxsutawney. The sexual abuse by Father Healy initially took place in the rectory affiliated with Saints Cosmas and Damian Church and included the following: Father Healy fondled the girl’s breasts and vagina and forced the girl to perform oral sex on Father Healy. The claim settled in 2020 in the low six figures.

Father John Piatkowski was accused of sexually abusing a male minor child on at least fifty occasions from approximately 1949 to 1953 when the boy was approximately 8 to 12 years old. At the time of the sexual abuse, Father Piatkowski was assigned to Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church (“Assumption Church”) in Sykesville, Pennsylvania, and the boy attended catechism classes taught by Father Piatkowski. The sexual abuse by Father Piatkowski occurred after catechism classes, which were held in the basement of Assumption Church or in a house across the street from the church. The sexual abuse included the following: Father Piatkowski repeatedly gave the boy long, tight hugs. On some occasions Father Piatkowski kissed the boy on the lips and inserted his tongue into the boy’s mouth. On at least one occasion, Father Piatkowski fondled the boy’s genitals over the boy’s clothing. The claim settled in 2020 in the mid-five figures.

The boy came to know Brother Remigius when the boy was attending a summer camp, Camp St. Joseph’s Villa in Hackettstown, New Jersey. The sexual abuse took place in a cabin at the camp. The sexual abuse by Brother Remigius included the following: Brother Remigius exposed the boy’s penis and then pulled out his own penis. Brother Remigius had the boy lie down on the floor, and Brother Remigius got on top of the boy, rubbing his genitals against the boy’s genitals, skin-on-skin. Father Zabowski withdrew from ministry in 2002.

Father Theodore Zabowski was accused of sexually abusing a male minor child on approximately ten occasions in approximately 1974 when the boy was approximately 13 years old. At the time of the sexual abuse, Father Zabowski was assigned to St. Lawrence O’Toole Church in Garfield, Pennsylvania. The sexual abuse by Father Zabowski took place in the rectory affiliated with St. Lawrence O’Toole Church and in various locations in the neighborhood near the church. On multiple occasions, Father Zabowski fondled the boy’s buttocks and/or genitals over the boy’s clothing while Father Zabowski was “play wrestling” with the boy. On one occasion in the rectory, Father Zabowski gave the boy alcohol to drink and then reached into the boy’s clothing, fondling the boy’s penis and testicles skin-on-skin. The claim settled in 2020 in the low five figures.
