Our fabulous Junior section continued to lead the way playing more than 250 matches. This season has had so many highlights I could not resist a personal selection: The Fantasy league has had a wonderful impact with 95 entries - congratulations to Sam and Dominic for a great initiative that has really brought the club together. Our fantastic girls’ section continuing to excel. Matt Mugan’s epic match reports and his stewardship of the mighty 5ths. The U15s winning the SJIL for the second year. The continued brilliance of our newsletter. Any one of the 1st XI games – but particularly the first game of the season vs. Esher, the Banstead finish and the Reigate miracle. Our wonderful overseas pro Sahan. The 3rd XI posting some enormous totals on the way to winning the league. Trevor’s victory sign for the 1st XI. The party following the championship win and The Champion’s Ball. My thanks to the committee who have worked so hard this year once again. Sarah Crowther has been an invaluable member for many years and stands down at this year’s AGM. Sarah has led the club’s junior membership registration and welfare team with dedication and aplomb through a period of transformative change, most recently ensuring that the club achieved the renewal of our ECB Clubmark accreditation. After leading our seniors and juniors through another fantastic season Dominic Reed will step down as Director of Cricket in October. Dominic, working closely with Sarah Lynch and Sam Burge, has transformed the Juniors and Seniors respectively. The club is in the process of hiring a new Director of Cricket to build on Dominic’s great legacy. I am delighted that Dominic will continue to captain our First XI. On a personal note I have decided to stand down as Chairman. I joined the club’s committee in 2010 and have been Chairman for the last four seasons. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time in the role and leave the committee in the knowledge that the hard work and dedication of so many has created a club that is joined up from our U5s to our Seniors and social members. EMCC has firmly established itself as a Premiership club at the heart of its community and all of our members should be proud of that. A new Chairman will be elected at the AGM which will be in the next few months. Enjoy the off season and see you at Graburn Way for more great cricket next year. 1ST X1 PREMIER DIVISION CHAMPIONS by Dominic Reed, 1st x1 Captain East Molesey 1st XI had an unforgettable performed season- winning 16 of their 18 league matches another Houdini act to come as they claimed the Surrey Championship away victorious at the death.
