OLYMPIC OFFSEASON: Former Big Red football letter winner Jamie Moriarty ‘03 represented the United States as a member of the U.S. Olympic bobsled team at the 2010 Winter games in Vancouver, Canada. Moriarty, a three-year letter winner for the Big Red on the gridiron, came from a long line of exceptional athletes: His father was a member of the NFL’s Cleveland Browns, in addition to putting in stints with the Atlanta Falcons and Pittsburgh Steelers, while his three uncles, Frank, Pat and Larry, played for the Denver Broncos, Cleveland Browns and Houston Oilers, respectively. Moriarty finished his Cornell career with 152 tackles and six interceptions as a defensive back. He was part of the four-man USA III sled along with teammates Nick Cunningham, Bill Schuffenhauer and Mike Kohn. The team finished 13th overall out of 25 qualifying teams.
