JULY 22, 2011 THE ARTS OF FASHION SUMMER @ MUSEE DES ARTS DECORATIFS - IN FASHION MODE - PARIS The Arts of Fashion Foundation launches its third innovative four-week intensive summer fashion master classes program in English: IN FASHION MODE. It will take place at the Paris Decorative Arts Museum in the famous Le Louvre Palais 107 rue de Rivoli Paris 75001 - www.lesartsdecoratifs.fr - Metro Palais Royal / Musee du Louvre. IN FASHION MODE The Arts of Fashion Summer 2011 @ Musee des Arts Decoratifs - In Fashion Mode - Paris is open to Fashion & Design students as well as young Fashion professionals (on review of their application). AURORE DE LA MORINERIE Paris based famous Fashion Illustrator and Artist - www.auroredelamorinerie.com This is an excellent opportunity to develop students’ creativity in fashion design and gain a deeper understanding of contemporary fashion draping, construction and craft techniques of embellishment. Moreover, students will be able to sharpen their skills in embroidery, illustration, textile manipulations and incorporate them into cutting-edge styles. Students will draw inspiration from the Paris Decorative Arts Museum’s exhibition (starting July 5) on Hussein Chalayan and from the current Bourdelle Museum exhibition on Madame Gres and incorporate innovative techniques into their project. Students will design and construct two silhouettes to be exhibited on July 21 at the exhibition hall des Maraichaux in the Paris Museum and then in San Francisco., end of October 2011. IN FASHION MODE - CULTURAL PROGRAM Students can choose to participate in the cultural program offered during the weekends and July 14th to visit fashion spots and landmarks in Paris, Chantilly and Antwerp. Students will have the opportunity to do sketching during these visits. TUITION FEES The Arts of Fashion Summer 2011 @ Musee des Arts Decoratifs - In Fashion Mode - Paris offers Fashion students intensive and superior Design and Fashion related courses over a period of 4 weeks, five-day a week, from 9 AM to 5 PM, (with one hour lunch break) from June 27 - July 22, 2011. Tuition fees are $ 4200. ACCOMMODATION In collaboration with the Fondation des Etats-Unis, the Arts of Fashion offers single rooms for $ 1300 for the entire length of the summer program. Check in Sat. June 25 – Check out Sat. July 23, 2011. JUNE 27 - FRI. JULY 22, 2011 TUITION FEES PAYMENT Full payment of tuition fees is requested at the time of the registration. The payment will be made in US $ by check enclosed to Arts of Fashion Foundation or bank wire transfer or online by credit card via secured PayPal system. Spots are limited and are on first come, first served. All applicants must complete online or mail-in the individual registration form, as well as the full payment of tuition fees to the Arts of Fashion Foundation as soon as possible as class size is limited to 20 students. The tuition fees do not include the roundtrip airfare and other transportations, accommodation and meals, cultural program and visits, personal expenses, materials and medical insurance. Upon receipt of your registration form and payment, Arts of Fashion will review your application and will send you additional information and your enrollment confirmation. After the 20th student registered, all next students will be placed on a waiting list and be contacted if a spot becomes available. Students on the waiting list will be contacted in order of receipt of their registration form. DEADLINES & CANCELLATION POLICY Cancellation must be made in writing before the dates below. Prior to January 15, 2011, refund of tuition fees less a 10 percent penalty, Prior to April 15, 2011, refund of tuition fees less a 30 percent penalty, After April 15, 2011, no tuition fees will be refunded. In case of a cancellation of the Summer program for any reason or circumstances by the Arts of Fashion Foundation tuition fees will be refunded. INSURANCE REQUIREMENT Please note that the registration and tuition fees do not include international insurance or medical coverage. It is the responsibility to each participant to contract a personal international insurance before leaving for the summer program in Europe. We advice participants to take information first from their own insurance company in order to have additional medical and liability coverage during their travel and stay. Neither the Arts of Fashion Foundation, nor their members, volunteers, designers, guests, instructors, and space owners will be held responsible for liability due to accident, injury, damage, loss of material and belongings or any other incident causing loss or harm to a program participant during the 4-week session and travel time, even if the incident is caused by the above listed parties. It is the responsibility of the student to be insured and to insure or not what they produce, carry or/and submit. TRANSPORTATION & VISA Program participants must take their own arrangements to and from Paris. General information about airports of Paris can be found at www.parisairport.fr and inforamation about public transportation in the city at www.ratp.fr. Please note that all visitors will need to present a valid passport (that does not expire before the end of the visit).For US citizens, a visa is not needed. After going through the French customs, you will be free to travel in the Schengen space during the period of your stay less than 3-months. For non-US citizen, if your country does not have a special agreement with France/Europe, you will have to obtain a visa.
