Communiqué De Presse
Communiqué De Presse 10 JUIN 2017 Mixed emotions for Renault e.dams from Saturday’s Berlin ePrix After poor qualifying results that saw Nico Prost start from ninth on the grid and Séb Buemi fourteenth, Renault e.dams drove a strong first race at the Berlin ePrix doubleheader. Championship leader Séb Buemi took fifth place at the chequered flag, with teammate Nico Prost one place adrift in sixth. Postrace, however, Séb was disqualified for his car failing to comply with the minimum tyre pressure. When the lights went out, both drivers made strong starts but failed to make up any positions on the opening lap. Their mission was then to carve their way through the field, with Séb Buemi first to make progress by overtaking Stéphane Sarrazin on lap 7 to go P12. Nico also saw an opportunity and made a bold move on Maro Engel into Turn 1 to take eighth place. A few laps later, Séb was again on the move and made a manoeuvre stick on the inside of Jérôme d’Ambrosio at Turn 9 and gained another place. Before both drivers made their mandatory car swap, Séb Buemi was in ninth position while Nico Prost was seventh. After a great car change, Prost headed back out on track in sixth. It was not long before Séb was back attacking his rivals and made another confident pass on Daniel Abt for P8. With ten laps to go, the title leader pulled off a superb move on Sam Bird and took P7 before overtaking his teammate for P6. -
Audi Customer Team Wins Formula E Season Opener
Audi MediaInfo Motorsport Communications Danielc Schuster Tel: +49 841 89-38009 E-mail: [email protected] www.audi -mediacenter.com/en Audi customer team wins Formula E season opener • Difficult start for Audi Sport ABT Schaeffler factory team • Envision Virgin Racing clinches first victory for the Audi e-tron FE06 • Second race of the season starts tomorrow (on Saturday) at 3 PM (CET) Diriyah, November 22, November 2019 – Sam Bird with the Envision Virgin Racing team clinched the first victory on the debut for the Audi e-tron FE06 in the Formula E season opener. Daniel Abt and Lucas di Grassi from the Audi Sport ABT Schaeffler factory team had a difficult start and finished without points in Diriyah. Tomorrow, they will have a new chance: the next race on the outskirts of Riyadh starts at 3 PM (CET). With a riveting race marked by plenty of tactics, the new Formula E season kicked off in Diriyah on Friday. For the first time since the series started, the Audi Sport ABT Schaeffler factory team with Daniel Abt and Lucas di Grassi finished without points in the opening race of the season. Due to its strong championship positions last season, the German-Brazilian pairing had to go out on the still very dusty track in the first two qualifying groups and were only able to achieve the fifteenth and nineteenth place on the grid. In the race, di Grassi made up six places to finish thirteenth. Daniel Abt was also fighting back, when he was touched by a rival which damaged his front wing causing him to hit the wall. -
Audi Driver Di Grassi Also Scores Points in Fourth Race of Formula E Finale
Audi MediaInfo Audi driver di Grassi also scores points in fourth race of Formula E finale • Brazilian improves from 12th on the grid to sixth in Sunday race • René Rast among the top ten for the first time in qualifying • Fastest race lap for Sam Bird Berlin, August 9, 2020 – Audi driver Lucas di Grassi also scored points in the fourth race of the Formula E finale in Berlin, keeping his chances very much alive to finish the season as runner- up. On Sunday evening, the Brazilian drove his Audi e-tron FE06 from 12th on the grid to sixth in light rain and partially wet track conditions. Before the last two races, the Audi Sport ABT Schaeffler driver is tied on points with Max Guenther (BMW) in third place. This means that the runner-up spot of the drivers’ championship is now the target for the last two races of the season this upcoming Wednesday and Thursday in Berlin. Both driver’s and team’s titles were clinched on Sunday. “First of all, congratulations to Antonio Felix da Costa and DS Techeetah on winning the titles,” said Team Principal Allan McNish. “We made the most of our package in qualifying today. Lucas was only a tenth of a second behind first place in the difficult first group. René (Rast) had a great lap to make it into the top ten for the first time in qualifying. Unfortunately, after a strong early phase in the race, late in the race he got pushed back in traffic. Lucas again showed his fighting spirit. -
Quotes After the Audi Triumph at Le Mans

Quotes after Audi’s eleventh Le Mans triumph. Dr. Wolfgang Ullrich (Head of Audi Motorsport): “This is no doubt a historic victory for Audi. We were the first to win Le Mans with a direct-injection turbo gasoline engine and the first to be successful with a diesel engine. It’s a great result that Audi is now the first brand to have achieved victory with a hybrid vehicle – and right on the first run, as before with the two other technologies, and – what’s more – with both R18 e-tron quattro cars on the two top spots. That was an outstanding achievement by the entire squad, naturally with support from Audi’s Technical Development too, as we’re always working very closely together with the people who are developing our cars of tomorrow for the customers.” Ralf Jüttner (Technical Director Audi Sport Team Joest): “What a race! It was a hot battle right at the beginning, as Toyota was a much tougher rival than many had been expecting. It’s a shame that both of their cars retired so early, and Anthony Davidson’s vehicle with a heavy accident. -
Michelin Helps Imsa Deliver Fast, Close Racing at the Glen
PRESS INFORMATION MICHELIN HELPS IMSA DELIVER FAST, CLOSE RACING AT THE GLEN Mazda, Porsche, Acura Prevail in “Cool” Watkins Glen Watkins Glen, N.Y., June 30, 2019 --- Michelin marked the midpoint of its first season as the Official Tire of IMSA as it has since the outset, by working closely with manufacturers, teams and drivers to help them deliver incredibly close competition and another batch of new records. The combined margin of victory in the three premier IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship classes was just 1.48 seconds after six hours of racing at the historic 3.4-mile Watkins Glen International circuit. While last year Michelin recorded track temperatures in excess of 140 degrees Fahrenheit, the highest of the season, this year cooler temperatures prevailed. A weekend of extremes in temperatures, which reached 117 on Friday eventually ceded to a cool race day at the smooth, fast, high energy, high-load circuit where the race day track temperature topped out at 82 degrees. The weekend also saw a popular new overall winner with Mazda Team Joest scoring a long overdue maiden DPi victory. Learning and Growing Into Second Half of 2019 To kick off the second half of the season, Michelin brought its semi-confidential IMSA Hard compound tire for its debut in DPi/LMP2, the top two classes of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. Meanwhile the WeatherTech GT Daytona and IMSA MICHELIN Pilot Challenge GS class cars raced with the MICHELIN® Pilot® Sport GT S9M hard compound commercial slicks for the first time in 2019. The hard compound tire is tuned specifically for circuits where drivers traditionally encounter the highest loads and track temperatures of the season. -
Audi Driver Di Grassi About the New Formula E Season: “Number One Is Tremendous Motivation”
Audi MediaInfo Communications Motorsport Stefan Moser Tel: +49 841 89-35550 E-mail: [email protected] www.audi -mediacenter.com/en Audi driver di Grassi about the new Formula E season: “Number one is tremendous motivation” • Teams and Audi e-tron FE04 race car perfectly prepared • Audi premiere in electric racing series on December 2 and 3 in Hong Kong Neuburg a. d. Donau, November 24, 2017 – Preparations have been completed and the race cars of Team Audi Sport ABT Schaeffler are on their way to Hong Kong where the opening race of the new Formula E season will take place on December 2 and 3. In an interview, the reigning Champion, Lucas di Grassi, talks about his expectations, the new team and its key competitors. Who are the favorites in the title race this season from your point of view? “That’s hard to answer in Formula E – especially before this season. I have very strong expectations of Renault and Mahindra. At the same time, we should have Virgin, Andretti and Jaguar on our radar as well. There are at least five or six teams in contention for winning races. In addition, in André Lotterer, Edoardo Mortara and Kamui Kobayashi there’ll be some strong new drivers, so it’s near-impossible to make any predictions. The only thing we can be sure of is that this will be the hardest fought season in Formula E history to date.” What does contesting the season with number one displayed on your car mean to you? “It’s a good feeling because it shows that we did a good job last season and achieved something exceptional. -

WEC Bahrain: Audi Sport Quotes
Audi MediaInfo Communications Motorsport Eva -Maria Becker Tel: +49 841 89-33922 E-mail: [email protected] www.audi -mediacenter.com/en WEC Bahrain: Audi Sport quotes Ingolstadt/Bahrain, November 19, 2016 – Quotes from the Audi team following the one-two victory in the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) finale. Dr. Wolfgang Ullrich (Head of Audi Motorsport): “There’s no sweeter way to end such a project than with a one-two victory. It was a very emotional race and the entire FIA WEC made it very difficult for us to quit. Today, you could tell that we’ve grown into a big family over many years. Now, we’re going to look ahead, giving our all in our new projects, just like we’ve come to be known. What happened in the WEC will not repeat itself. These 18 years of the sports car project have been a very important part of my professional life that I tremendously enjoyed. And I was fortunate enough to have always worked together with fantastic people.” Stefan Dreyer (Head of LMP): “The greatest thing in motorsport is to stand on the top step of the podium and to have achieved the maximum in positions one and two. This victory was long overdue and is the reward for the hard work of the trackside teams and those at home. The drivers and Audi Sport Team Joest did a perfect job today and deserve having clinched the vice-champions’ titles. I feel exhausted and am very emotional following this last LMP race victory achieved by Audi. -
Formula E: Latest News and Miscellaneous Info from Monaco
Audi MediaInfo Motorsport Communications Daniel Schuster Tel: +49 841 89-38009 E-mail: [email protected] www.audi -mediacenter.com/en Formula E: latest news and miscellaneous info from Monaco • Blackjack at casino sets the mood for E-Prix in gamblers’ paradise • Allan McNish and Lucas di Grassi can “sleep at home” • German TV channel ARD and Eurosport to air live coverage from Monaco Monaco, May 10, 2019 – At the Formula E race in Monaco (start on Saturday at 4.30 PM CEST), an even more compact schedule than at the previous races this season awaits the Audi Sport ABT Schaeffler team. Formula E uses part of the Formula One circuit for the E-Prix in Monaco. The track will not be closed to public traffic until Saturday morning, so the usual shakedown session of the race cars has been omitted. The two Audi e-tron FE05 will go directly into the first free practice session at 7.30 AM on Saturday morning. With a round of blackjack at the casino in Monaco, the two Audi drivers, Daniel Abt and Lucas di Grassi, got in the mood for the Formula E race in the gamblers’ paradise. Team Principal Allan McNish, who drove to the PR event in the new Audi e-tron*, served as the croupier. In Monaco, Formula E takes turns with the historic Grand Prix every two years. Since Formula E’s last visit in May 2017, some sections of the circuit have been repaved. Allan McNish and Lucas di Grassi can sleep in their own beds in Monaco: both have been living in the principality for years.
